I was reading some about Bud and I did not realize he had quite a career as an athlete before starting coaching at just 29 years old. It was a different time but imagine a player winning a championship playing limited minutes for an NBA team then signing with an NFL team leading the team in sacks your first season and then the next year switching to WR and ending up 2nd in the league in yards. Lol

- Lettered 9 times at the University of Minnesota (basketball, football, baseball).
- Played two NBA seasons (one championship)
- Then moved to the NFL where he led the team in sacks a defensive lineman.
- Then he switched to WR (what?!?!?) and had 997 receiving yards.
- Then quit the NFL and went to play football in Canada. He must has switched positions again because he once had FIVE interceptions in a game.
- Then he became a coach at 30 years old.
A very different time indeed...
