That was crazy. I have been wondering where the hell Richardson is in this type of game. I was expecting him to d that type of thing to other teams.
Richardson has done that type of play this year. The Saints having 2 of the best tackles in the game (according to the broadcast) probably helps the inside.
He was great against the 49ers, but I have not seen enough of him since. Funny thing was after I posted it here PA was saying the same thing. I also felt like we could run on this group and we did.

And that was playing with some key players out of the lineup. For me this was basically a 50/50 game and it seemed like we were up to the task enough except some turnovers. I don't want to make it sound too cheery but starting an undrafted Rookie FA and he doesn't get torched going against Brees? Not bad.
Also no sacks but we got to him twice 1 resulted in a pick and another one resulted in basically a sack from the intentional grounding penalty.
Cousins took a couple dumb sacks that one where he took one and it was initially ruled a fumble...just throw the damn ball away. That one play where Elf got thrown back like a rag doll...wasn't great.
They played a lot of over the top coverage to help out the CB's. Which left all those underneath throws opened up to Kamara. Thing is though, the defense wasn't the problem. Turnovers obviously and not making that 4th and 1, essentially another turnover. Short fields made scoring fairly easy.

I will say thy he did play last week without Linval next to him. The question has been about his consistency. I think he has still actually been pretty good the other weeks just obiously not as many splash plays. Heck David Parry got some really good penetration last week and he is back out waiting for the phone to ring.
Chad Beebe promotes up with Diggs unlikely to play. Reiff sounds like he will be available so Storm Norton will be waived. We are gonna see Beebe and Zylstra do some stuff tomorrow 2 more undrafted guys. I won't be surprised if Beebe is returning some kicks.

The defense really stepped up obviously the Dline was good getting 10 sacks but the coverage was pretty good on some of those Safford had some time and didn't seem to have anywhere to go. Hunter is a beast and with Griffen back this team looks pretty good on the edges. Weatherly is a heck of a backup.
This wasn't Cousins best game but that's ok. Cook was absolutely flying on that long run.
The Defense was great. If we can get and stay healthy we are going to be tough moving forward. I think we can beat the Saints and Rams if we don't turn the ball over. The OL seems to be getting a little better as we go too.
When Ameer Abdullah was waived I honestly assumed he hasn't been healthy this year. He has had some problems with injuries and he was a Lions RB so...
Anywho I am a fan of his since I live here in Nebraska. I wasn't sure exactly where his place in the league was coming out of college but so thought he could be a dynamic player. I wasn't sure at this point where his career was headed.
Then the Vikings put in a waiver claim and got him. I watched a few highlights from last season and he looked like he was the same guy after returning from the foot injury. I like Roc Thomas but if healthy Ameer is a veteran version of who Roc is or you would hope he would be and to be honestly Ameer should be more talented and Roc hasn't exactly been the picture of perfect health so far either. I'm somewhat excited to see how it goes. He is a good KR also.
