Treadwell...man what a tough game.
Cousins was pretty good what a way to get it done when it's clutch time.
Yeah I was wondering that too, can you trust him not to melt down and maybe lose a game or two by sticking with him? Those kicks were way right. Kai wouldn't have missed all 3, that I would bet a lot of money on, he seemed reliable.
Forbath would have missed two field goals, not three. He would also have missed three of his four extra point tries leaving the game exactly as it ended!
Haha, he was OK last year. 84% on FG's and 87% on XP's. 19th on FG and 35th in XP percentage.
Yeah we should have went after Gould. He was really good last year.
Gould bounced back after a down year. Maybe we should try that with Dan Bailey who I think only hit around 75% of his kicks last season. He 30 so he isn't too old. Amusingly earlier when I looked him up Wikipedia had him as the Vikings kicker already. Supposedly he has been waiting for the right offer. Is the Vikings it?
Yeah I looked up his stats. I would rather have him or Kai right now, anyone that's proven over time. Can we really risk losing several games because of our kicker? Gould went 39/41 last year. Our dude already missed 3 FG's in 2 games.
It seems hard to have confidence in him at this point and yes it absolutely seems risky going further with him as the kicker.
I mean can anyone make any real case for keeping Carlson? I mean if there wasn't guys like Dan Bailey or even Forbath (who's problem is missing extra points) then maybe you hope he figured it out because the other options might be more known but not that great. Ugh man this kicking thing is brutal. Jeff Diamond has a podcast with Souhan and he was talking about having Gary Anderson on both the Vikings and Tennessee. What's Longwell up to?
Shuffleboard and early bird dinners at the Hungry Troll?

If a guy has made it to the NFL isn't he past having to " learn to make those plays" . You either can catch the ball consistently or you can't. He's a head case now, time to cut bait.
I don't know what to say about kickers anymore they're a necessary inconvenience at this point. I think they should've tried to score a td in ot. The kids confidence was shot. Zimmer doesn't mince words when it comes to kickers so any confidence he has left will be self fabricated. He might be a lost cause head case too at this point.
This Mahomes kid absolutely crushed me in Fantasy (my opponent played his "backup" Mahomes instead of Aaaron Rogers). He is really good. These weren't fluke plays or ridiculous catches being made.
It really is hard to figure. The Vikes go out and give all this money to a qb ( rightfully so) becuz the time is now for this team. Then turn around and decide to draft and roster a rookie kicker to handle the pressures that come with a Super Bowl or bust team. I'm sure that kids been brought up to speed on the sorted history this team has with kickers. He prolly feels it bearing down on him with every kick. This team needs a savvy vet that has been thru the ringer a time or two .

If Andy Reid is in on a QB that's a pretty good sign.
A friend of mine who is a packers fan traded Rodgers and Jordon Howard (and a couple average guys) for 2 of the top RBs, AJ Green and Cousins.
How long does Fitzpatrick keep that job? I've always been a fan of him and he did play his way out of a job his last year as a starter but going into this season I considered him one of the best backups in the league.

You mean like Gary Anderson? Still hurts even to make that joke.
Yes on Bailey, no thanks on Gordon...can't see picking up a guy that the Cleveland Brwons didn't want.
Apparently Bailey has already turned down 4 offers, including the Browns. Smart...he knows he will be in demand and decided to wait to see if a contender wanted to sign him. I can't imagine a better situation for him than the Vikings...a dome team expected to be in the running for a championship. As much as I like Forbath, I"m guessing the Vikes sign Bailey this week.
