How good do people think Sharrif Floyd is? I tend to think he is a good player (sorta vague descriptor on purpose) and turns 25 in May so he is still young. He has a problem staying healthy and right now has a 6.7 million dollar cap hit which seems like too much to pay him at this point (that's what Linval makes). I really don't know what a fair longer term conract would be for him if they went that route which could reduce that cap number if Floyd and the team could agree on something. They have to cut him before June 1 if they want to let him go and pay nothing.
I'd be surprised if Floyd came back here. Zimmer flat out said out of sight out of mind when it came to Floyd's recovery and either the diagnosis was wrong or Floyd didn't work hard enough to get back on the field.
I think we try and trade him, but honestly we have had some good luck finding FA DT's. I wouldn't be upset if we took one early in the draft if it looks like the best player available. I would rank our needs as OT, RB, DT, and OC in that order. I could see LB too, but think we can get by with what we have. Now things could get very interesting at CB if both Newsome and Caption leave. I honestly think it is time to go young and see what we have. I think the best chance of this team being Superbowl bound as built expired last year.

I'll say that regardless of whether the Vikings kept or plan to keep AP or not looking at RB in this draft makes a lot of sense.
I agree. That Mixon kid that the Lion's GM was upset about not being here is probably better than anyone we have and he likely will go undrafted because of his past.

How do you feel about drafting Mixon? I know enough about his past (it was bad) I'm curious about what he has done since then. I'd be curious about what Thelien's agent would have to say. He was an interesting listen on the purple podcast.

I think there is about a 0% chance Zimmer and Spielman draft Mixon or even entertain him being here. I still would love to land McCaffrey on this team. The guy is a beast of an all-around running back. He was the best player in college football 2 years ago and it wasn't even close when you watched him play. I think he's a real modern day back that's gonna be a really good player.

Why do you think there is a 0% chance? I'm not disagreeing I am just curious your thoughts on how you are coming to that position. I'm intruiged with his talent but I'm also intruiged by how this will all play out.

Zimmer and Spielman want high character guys almost to a fault.
Khans - I am a Mccaffrey fan for sure. I see him as more of a 3rd down back in NFL that can line up all over the field. He looks like the kind of player the Patriots would draft.
List of backs is crazy good. 40 times are today. It will separate the men from boys for sure. Mccaffrey was put in the boys camp after bench press. He will need to be fast to be picked in early. If he is slow I would love to have him in the 3rd round.
