I find this thread about trading Rudy stupid as hell.

How can you possibly make a conclusion when Kat has only played 21 games with Rudy.

Sorry that Walker Kessler looks like great player. The whole Vando/Beasley part these guys won't even be there in a year or two. It comes down to Kessler and the picks unfortunately Kessler looks like a good pick which is good because our GM picked him. Kessler might also have foot problems in year or two that makes him worse you don't know.

Idk they overplayed but it's been half a season and we want ship the guy out already.

If Kat, TP little Max and take away Rudy all Missed the same amount of time they've miss this year during last season.

Im sorry but even with Vando/Beasley and Walker this team would be closer to top 4 in lottery than being a game or 2 away from the 6 seed.

That's suggesting that the Wolves would have done nothing... instead of overpaying for Gobert.

Heck, the Wolves could have still made the Gobert trade (for a lot less) and I'm pretty sure it would change how many view the trade.

The Athletic just wrote an article where Goberts prior Utah teammates preached patience, and that the long game will pay off...so there's hope I guess, what else could a t-pups fan hope for, that's our specialty!

Good point, WW. And I also read somewhere today that Conley's connection with Gobert didn't happen immediately...developed over time. Gives me some hope for Russell/Rudy.

Grasping desperately for any tidbit that might be cause for hope. It's pathetic, but we are Wolves fans after all.

I was supportive of the trade at the time, but now I'm souring on it with the benefit of hindsight. And the main reason isn't the loss of picks, Malik Beasley, Patrick Beverley, or Vando. The main reason is Walker Kessler. Connelly should have trusted his drafting track record! The dude is going to ultimately be a better all-around player than Gobert if he stays healthy and works at it.

Followed by an article from the same writer praising Connelly for his work in Denver.

I noted a couple of weeks ago during the "team meeting" period that somebody seemed to be leaking news to Jon Krawczynski. It seems to me that Connelly has the ear of the team's most prominent beat writer.

[Note: Of note, one of the only times Jon K responds in the comment section of his pieces has been when somebody claims Connelly is in hiding. Jon K responds that he's been on the record with him multiple times.]

I think Jester is spot on about the Gobert trade. No one knows what this team is with he and KAT together or how things would have gone without the trade. If you think you *know* either of those, I call bullsh*t. The team as constructed by Connelly isn't perfect but we don't know how far from perfect because they just haven't played together enough. Period.

Didn't want to start a new thread for this weird topic, so just adding it to the Rudy thread. The Wolves lead the league in defending opponents' free throws...i,e. opponents' FT% of 75.9 is the lowest in the league...after ranking 21st last year. I've heard this a couple times this season, and thought "Great, but that's totally random". But Dane Moore has a theory why opponents are so bad on free throws against us...Rudy! Note that opponents shot free throws poorly against Utah last year too. I have always thought fans waving things behind the basket in an attempt to distract the shooter is silly, but maybe a big body like Rudy doing this might be a little distracting!

Is this even legal?

"Long Game"!?!?! Seriously!?!? He's going to be 31 in June. He has a max contract. And coming into this season, he was a part of 3 series wins in NINE seasons. So define "Pay off"?

This is the trade (and the ONLY trade) that makes sense: DAR/PB/MB and ONE first for RG/JC/BB (I checked, the salaries work). There's obviously a ripple effect regarding Prince and Anderson, but MIN is actually better. UTAH gets a pick, saves A TON of money, and can still make the Mitchell trade (the guy Utah traded who is actually playing well).

I'm not going to mention "the podcaster who shall not be named" (mainly because I don't want to hear another super-cool story about Jay Cutler getting accosted in a bathroom), so I'll mention his co-worker Ryan Russilo, and Rusillo put it best: "Who were they bidding against?" (But Rusillo did say a couple of days later that Ainge is tough to deal with because he got a $300k signing bonus from The Blue Jays when he was 18, which must have given A-Rod a good laugh.)
