Yikes...a top ten 2-way player with a 23.9 PER for three guys with PERs under 15...I don't like it. Getting Butler for Dunn and LaVine was the one time I felt really good about Thibs. If we're going to deal Butler, we need to get some serious value back.

Theres a career .373 3 pt shooter that no one is talking about. And hes a wing.
I actually wouldnt mind vince carter for the league minimum and playing about 5 minutes a game. I think he still has some game in him. I think hed be as good a mentor you could get for wiggins and a great locker room presence.

Im not advocating [yet] for the Wolves to trade Butler, but if they were going to and they received this offer, I'd be all over it and it's because of the improvement a 20-year old Brandon Ingram showed last season.

I would do that deal if I were in charge of the Wolves. I think you're right to question whether the Lakers would do that deal.
To think that those who think that's not enough in return for Butler are seriously overestimated his value.
Atlanta is just waiting for someone to salary dump a player to them for an asset, and we should jump on it before one of our rivals like Denver takes advantage. Dieng and a first for Dedmon. Deadmon helps us more this year than Dieng would, but is also an expiring contract. With the salary cap jumping to 109 million next year if Teague opts out suddenly we have some cap space to use before extending both Butler and Towns. This is where Butler gets to work and calls up his buddy Irving to come play with him.

Yes, Butler is the best player in that trade - today. But the question to ask is who the best player will be in 4 years and beyond. That could very well be Ingram. Then you have to ask whether Butler will choose to stay beyond this year. That's a wide open question given all the variables, including whether Thibs stays or goes. Then consider the value of Kuzma, Hart and a future 1st. This deal would be a great one for the Wolves. Unfortunately, Thibs would never make the offer, and if he did, I'm not sure the Lakers would take it.

Not a big fan of Ingram, but besides that, any trades involving any one of Butler, Wiggins or Towns shouldn't be considered until there's new management.
Thibs is not trading Jimmy. Let's just move on from that idea. A guy being pressured from the top to win games and get out of the first round is not trading his best player and MVP candidate for young pieces. You're basically expecting Thibs to hang himself for the perceived good of the franchise. Not happening.
