Back to the Wiggins supposed comment...I watched the comment before I knew anything about any of this stuff. Seriously WTF were people doing?!? I didn't hear that at all. People are killing ESPN about the story on Twitter as they should. It's ridiculous.

We'll see how things are going in a couple weeks, but we do have a chance to get on a mini-roll here with 5 straight W's if we can handle things at home this weekend - and against 8th seed playoff rivals no less.

It would be great if Wolves could have 5 game winning streak before road game against Philly. That game will be something to look for. Wiggins vs Butler, Towns vs. Embiid and hopefully also RoCo vs Simmons.

I agree, LST. I truly hope the organization opens up. The Thibodeau/Layden approach has been ridiculous. It alienates fans and distances the team from the fan base. It makes no sense. As for Rob, I hope they keep him out until his is entirely ready. I see him as a long-term piece and don't want to jeapordize his long-term well-being for the sake of this season.

Layden is still in charge so I doubt we will hear a ton from him although Layden and Glen were in Iowa addressing media or something yesterday. As far as updates about Covington I don't care what organization it is so would t be holding my breath for updates it's just gonna come what it comes there isn't a certain timetable there.

EDIT: Here is an article with some video from both Glen and Layden. Layden seemed a little more relaxed and actually had a moment where he showed a more human/softer side when speaking about Ryan taking over as the coach. I think its interesting Glen and Layden were in Iowa. I wonder if Glen is gonna try Layden out and see if he can show some ability to be a more public figure. I doubt Layden is the guy to run this team beyond this season though and it sounds like that opinion is shared around the league based on all the reports I have heard.

I like what Jon said about Ryan - he has Flip's appreciation and knack for human connection, but also has Thibs' work ethic. Kind of the best of both worlds I'd say!

I also liked Ryan's answer when Barreiro asked him a question about coaching different generations and how today's players are different and don't take to the old school style (i.e. Thibs) like they may have in the past. While that might be true, Ryan wouldn't have any of that broad brushing. He said every player is different and what might work with one person may not work with another. Right answer Ryan!

It's abundantly apparent that his EQ is 10x better than Thibs. I think that was clear in how genuine the joy was in the players getting him his first win.

One thing I do agree with Barreiro on is that now the spotlight is really on the players, especially the young guys. All of the excuses we've made for them - inexperience, Butler's presence and the ensuing drama, and mostly Thibs - are all gone now.

I listened to these segments as well as one Ryan did with Chad Hartman. Ryan did very well with both appearances. Of course it helps he has known these people all his life. There is a ton of familiarity and he doesn't just have to talk basketball. It's pretty easy to REALLY get excited and cheer for him to succeed and Dan B. Also did a nice job of mentioning we should hold back and not going all crazy and still enjoy the moment. One thing is pretty clear is Ryan really talks up collaboration and doesn't seem to have too big of an ego. Good stuff.
