Future starting lineup
Rubio

Towns.
Nice mix of offense and defense there. With Shabbat and Pek giving the second unit some scoring punch
Not a terrible idea. There are just so many possibilities.

I wouldn't want to give up both Shabazz and LaVine if we don't have to. I would prefer to keep LaVine, but if that is what it takes to make it happen I would do it. I am sure Rubio's agent would be willing to help.
I think we may be better off getting another team involved because I think the Lakers will want a star over 3 good players and some early second round picks. Maybe Sacramento?

He's probably never going to be a top 3 PG in the league, but he can be a great glue guy. The type of player you win with. I'm not against going after Russell (not going to happen though), but I'd rather have him and Rubio.
I agree, but if we get a chance to land a big and Russell then I would be less hesitant to include Rubio. Russell can do a lot of things Ricky can, but is a much better shooter and overall scorer. If we want to be a team that hits more threes, we have to get better 3 point shooters.

If there was anyway this team could move back up and assure themselves Stein then I'd be all for taking Russell. Maybe use Ricky as the chip necessary to do so.
Russell
Lavine
Wiggins
KG
Stein
Thats an offensive and defensive starting unit I could get behind.Plus a second unit of Kmart, Shabazz and Pek would be more than solid.
bleedspeed177 wrote:Saw the Lakers trade idea on the other thread. I am sure we could get the 2nd pick we certainly have the parts to do it.
Basically off the table would be #1 pick, Wiggins, and that is it. Lots of options to make it happen. You could start off offering Martin, Rubio, Bjelica, and Dieng and see what they come back with.
I say there is ZERO chance that we could get the lakers pick for anyone or any combination not named wiggins or the 1st pick. Lakers will never do that. Its pure wishful thinking. The lakers won big in the lottery. They now have a chance for a quick rebuild with possibly towns/okafor to team with kobe, max player they will sign, and clarkson and randle. They will have even more money to spend after next season. They are a premiere free agent destination and they will never trade the number 2 pick in this years draft for a combo of rubio, lavine, bazz, dieng, martin or bjelica. Not going to happen.

Hezonja's game is very good. I see Detroit/Denver coveting him.

Most smart NBA GMs are going to be very wary of this potential locker room cancer. But the Kings already have Cousins, so they may be willing to take on this knucklehead too.
Word is the Nets are looking to move Jarret Jack. I know his contract is kind of expensive but it is only partially guaranteed for 16-17 and it is not like we are going to be spending money on free agents anytime soon.
The Wolves happen to have a trade exception from the Love trade which happens to perfectly fit Jack's contract. The Wolves could send #36 back or a future second rounder (last year the Nets spent over 2 million to acquire three second rounders!) and get their backup PG for nothing, save their MLE or use it to bring over NB.
