But we've got Robbie all but hog-tied!
They got him for 3/$18M, an absolute steal. All they need to do is acquire a solid bench scorer and they may finally be poised to make a legit run in the WC
Vince Carter's about to get robot legs and extend his career a decade just to fill that role.

They're players. They're always going to try to get more money. They're just going to go after it a different way now such as trying to eliminate the cap all together and have a totally free market.
Boom.
That sound you hear is the sound of all but a handful of teams losing hope of ever contending.
SP, since you went undrafted, are you a FA right now?
It's all about respect Cool, it was 1st round or retire. If they don't recognize talent when I tell them it's there they don't deserve to be beneficiaries of it.

Wiggins just seems more of a quiet guy. (same for Shabazz) I could certainly see Rubio, Towns, and LaVine being those type of players.
I don't understand what this even means. Draws others in?

Sources told ESPN that the pact is expected to exceed $80 million over five years to keep the promising power forward in a frontcourt that will also feature Kevin Love after Love announced that he's staying in Cleveland."
So... 80 mil per year over 5 would be 16/yr. That's insane for Thompson. I'm sorry but that money should be going to Mozgov. Even in the new cap era this is an overpay for Thompson IMO.
Yeah it's a lot. On this board we talked a lot last summer about what he might get if he came here and got a bunch of minutes but none of us would have expected him to get paid like that staying in Cleveland.
Dan Gilbert is worth 4.8 billion dollars. They just signed a new TV deal that's worth billions and that doesn't account for other revenue. The whole deal with owners crying over having to pay the luxury tax like they'll go poor or something is the biggest crock that the public has bought into
