Anyway, the source confirmed that Houston has in fact offered 4 first round picks. Source said no response yet from the Wolves. Also mentioned that Miami is back in play, but not aware of any new offers.

Same offer to MIA: 4 1sts/3 Swaps/5 2nds/anybody they want to trade to MIN for JimmyBricks/anybody else other than KAT&Okogie.

Ya, I'd offer that as well. But only because I got "hung up" on and want to waste Riley's time. Not because I think it would ever happen. Miami is trending to a rebuild beginning last year. Houston has a 2-3 year shot.

Miami can't make that offer. They've already traded away picks.

That's my point. Call Riley as a last F U, then call Morey and cement the deal.

I say don't call. Let him drop his Tapioca after he reads about the trade in the paper. Then he can call Michael Douglas and find out what he did wrong on his Gordon Gekko impression.

But given how motivated Houston is to get Butler, the source thinks Houston will relent on the lottery protection. Again, source says it will ultimately be up to the Wolves on whether 4 picks is a price they're willing to accept for Butler.

If they let up, I'm done. Let them have Butler, KG, Laettner, Pooh, Cookie Holmes, Bud Grant, whoever they want, but get the picks.

And you knew that Terrell Owens was going to rip off his Jimmy Butler mask and reveal who he really is?
And lets discuss the "3 lottery picks". Dunn still isn't good and Lavine makes $20m/year. So it becomes one lottery picks for a playoff appearance/win, a pick in the teens, and four picks in the 20's, and maybe more.

Wolves need to get back at least 1 useable player and not just picks.

4 late picks doesnt do anything for us unless we are doing a hard reboot. We need at least 1 young guy that can play right now with Wiggins, KAT, and Okogie. Unfortunately, Chriss is not that guy.

Hopefully this starts a bidding war and we get at least 1 useable player in return.

We don't know if they will all be late 20 picks. Chris Paul is old and injury prone, butler is injury prone and can leave at the end of the year, if they do the trade the rockets lock up the next 8 years where they can trade a pick. That is a long ass time. The Nets thought the trade was going to be a good one at the time it wasn't.

A lot can happen in 6 years. I mean six years ago we had a core of Love and Rubio. James harden was in OKC. A lot can change and they are getting old fast, and we eliminate huge assets for them to quick rebuild if it does start to fail.

I'm coming around to where you're at Jason. As I think about it, I don't see us getting a better deal than this. And there's a decent chance the last two Houston picks will be lottery picks. Moreover, the trade would likely ensure that the Wolves own 2019 pick is a pretty decent lottery pick. The Wolves had better not let this one go. Unfortunately, I just don't trust Thibodeau to make a deal so focused on the future. But we'll see.

Yep, if we do the trade we can't let up on protection of the picks.

I'm legit excited for the 1st time in awhile. If this is thibs last year he left us with a good going away present

You tell Morey no protections or no deal. Butler means shit for us, but I'm not gifting you your best chance at a championship with no ramifications.

If he wants to protect the last two picks then you go back to Miami to see if they will increase their offer or go back to stating you're keeping Butler and play hardball again. I'd rather let Butler walk leaving $40 mil on the table for throwing a fit and not getting his way than bending over and reaffirming why we are a shit organization by giving in for no other reason than attempting to save a face that we don't have.

But if Taylor is the one driving this, it doesn't matter that Ziggy is not into it. Buy the way, I saw a pic of Thibs from the weird angle and have decided he is non-animated Ziggy. It's my new "Blonde Ricky". Get in on the ground floor.

Ya, Glenn might have to step in if that is a legit offer like you are reporting. Also that 2021 pick might not be in the lotto but it might be a good substitute with a possible double draft that year.

I also want to say that if HS kids can join the draft after 2021 draft the variance of the draft goes up. One less year for scouts to scout players and against lesser competition. Meaning later picks have higher possiblity of hitting if HS kids are allowed back in

Which turns the value of a 20s pick into a teens pick for the first few years after that change, before it levels back out.

And if we do this rockets deal we have to look and deal Teague.

Offer Teague to the suns for Chandler and a lotto protected 1st. If not converted in 5 years it becomes 2 2nds.
