I think OKC will up ahead of us in the standings. I see them finishing 3rd or 4th with the Wolves finishing 5th if Butler comes back soon and remains healthy. If Butler misses remains out for an extended period, then I see the Wolves finishing 6th or 7th. I still think the Wolves could finish 3rd or 4th, but I wouldn't bet on it.

I don't have nearly as much faith in the Thunder as you, Lip. I could see them falling in standings before I expected them to jump us for the 4-seed.

There are anomalies to this... but it's pretty consistently true (sans Wolves 2014)...

A team is legit if its Offense and Defensive Ratings are both in the top 10. OKC is 8th on offense and 4th on defense.

They've won 6 in a row... and they're 16 - 6 since that rough start. They're trending up right now. A lot. And I don't see that swinging back the other way sans injury.

[Note: Only 1.5 games back from the Wolves right now.]

I'm not worried about the Thunder if we play them in the playoffs. We've played them well all year. They have two guys. We have more depth. I think it would be a good series we would ultimately win.

I wasn't expected to see that... considering all the frustrated posts (not necessarily from you) we've read this season about the Wolves bench and how Thibs overplays his starters.

I wouldn't say we have good depth, but they literally have no depth.

That's a tough one to argue.

It'll be interesting as the annual "buyout season" approaches, where the Wolves fall? We know Cleveland is extremely high on the list. We know GSW could grab somebody.

But the Wolves? And more importantly, would buyout veterans prefer MN over OKC?

Demarcus Cousins out for the year with a torn Achilles. Don't like him but hate to see this happen
