I think we are all seeing it with Rubio's return. PG play is very very important. I would take Mudiay and not look back if he was the best player on the board when we pick. He is top for me. I would worry even more about him playing off the ball then Russell, but I think Rubio has shown he can play off the ball in Europe even if it is not ideal.

I will have to say looking at Russell though. His passing is scary good and we would have the best passing backcourt in the league with him and Rubio. We would still have enough minutes for LaVine.

We trade him for Jared Dudley!

Was Doc the GM for that deal because he has been making some pretty poor moves for them overall? I trust Flip to make a better deal than that.

We're getting Okafor, but suppose we had the 5th pick and Okafor, Russell, Towns, and Mudiay were gone. Would you trade #5 for Farried? I would.

For me it has to be Russell or Johnson. Okafor isn't a good enough defender and Towns isn't a good enough offensive player for me. Russell leads his team in almost everything. Having he and Rubio in the backcourt would set up our guys for great offensive looks. Those guys are such great passers. Johnson would give us high energy and intensity. He is such a great defender and a solid offensive player. Those are my two guys.

That's an easy no for me.

I wouldn't. Faried is a very limited player, his rebounding is fantastic and he plays with more energy than Brewer but he just isn't that skilled. In your scenario I go with Stanley Johnson all the way and feel good about it

I agree 100%. I was big on towns, but my opinion has been swayed between my own research and reading research from others here.
Russell or Johnson for me. If we fall to #6, I look to trade to pick up a later first and a Pf vet or two later 1sts. If two later firsts then look to pick up rondae hollis-jefferson and montrezl harrel or frank kaminsky.

I wouldn't touch Harrell until he's measured. Was just looking at him and at the Nike Hoops Summit measured in at 6'6.5" in shoes, that's not NBA PF size. He's got crazy length, but it would be a disadvantage in the NBA. That was from 2013 and I suspect he's grown to his 6'8" listed height, but if he hasn't... yikes.

All this Stanley Johnson talk has me looking at him currently and I'm slowly warming, and I expect to be red hot on this guy soon. Looking at the possibility of a Rubio/Wiggins/Johnson/Dieng/Pek lineup... it looks imposing. With Thad and Bazz, probably Martin off the bench, that's a lot of firepower you can mix and match.
