LeBron >>> Steph

That's not a shot at Steph, but I've seen LeBron do unreal things when the stage is big time and with little help. To say Steph is on LeBron's level is a bit laughable to me and it's trying to push the already-high hype before it's necessary. Both are phenomenal talents, but one's a superstar and the other's a super-superstar.

Nobody has claimed that Curry is on LeBron's level. All I'm saying is Curry is headed to LeBron's level.

This whole thing started because someone did. Read back in the thread.

Curry is blow for blow as good as Lebron this year. Lebron's career has no bearing on his play or status this year. Curry's play has been flat out demoralizingly good this year. To say Lebron is still a whole level higher than Curry right now is laughable. He doesn't get his own pedestal just because of who he's been. If you measure their play right now which is the only thing that matters when judging star power going into the finals, Curry is just as good. He's just a super-super star in his own way aka being arguably the greatest shooter of all time which is just as good as getting to the bucket at will.

Whatever you say. You're wrong, but I'm not going 10 rounds about why LeBron's on his own level. Do write back with another paragraph, though. I'd love to read it.

Curry is great, but LeBron James is basically waltzing into the finals with the f'ing New York Knicks right now.

I disagree. While he doesn't have as much around him, his support cast is far superior to the Knicks. They Knicks are bare bones horrible. Also the Warriors have had the tougher road. Anthony Davis in the first round, a very tough and solid Memphis team, then Harden in the third round. The Cavs had a below .500 opponent with zero stars in the first round, their toughest matchup with the Bulls in the second, and an Atlanta team that struggled in the first round with Brooklyn. I'm not sure the Cavs make it this far if they were in the west.

Side note, this is why if I'm Love or Aldridge I'm signing with the Celtics. You can have a fantastic team in the west and get bounced in the first (see the Spurs).

I'm not taking anything away from LeBron either. He is the MVP of the playoffs, but I just don't see them beating the Warriors and I feel like Curry is ready to make that leap into LeBron's best player in the game category. In order to do so he has to beat LeBron in the finals.

Good point name a better all-around player in the league than Lebron. You can make an agreement for Anthony Davis but Lebron has been that guy for years now. I'm saying this and I'm not a huge Lebron fan at all.

Curry is killing it this year and blowing up into a true superstar but Lebron is a different cat. He is sort of a KG type do pretty much everything but also scores 30 a night. Curry may be the best scorer and or offensive player in the league at this moment. It's fun as heck to watch him. Like Flip said the other day the improvement he has made since coming into the league is amazing. Some guys never get much better some guys get some better and some guys just seem to get better every year. Curry is one of those guys that gets better every year and that's why he is where he is. Hell of a player just enjoy it he is pure basketball.

Lebron is surrounded by defense and shooters which plays to his strengths. How many games have their role players won for them these playoffs playing really well? The answer is multiple. Lebron can only do so much to make his teammates better, they are just playing really well and they play the perfect roles that compliment Lebron. His current team is better than his '07 team that he carried to the finals. Lebron was not a one man wrecking crew in the Chicago series yet they came out on top. How did that happen if Lebron is doing everything for them? His help is playing really well and just because they have role players names attached to them people are discounting them. This is an example of surrounding your star talent with players who compliment what he does. Every game they've had a role player or two step up with Lebron to win. He's not doing it by himself.

As far as Steph goes, greatness in history has never been discounted because of who you play with. It has always been enhanced when you were the best player on a great team. Why is Steph getting discounted being the clear best player for the best team in the league when most of the greatest players to ever play this game played with just as good, if not better talent? There's not a single guy on his team that projects to be a hall of famer right now and they have destroyed everybody. Meanwhile Lebron and Duncan (the past two champions) each played with two other hall of famers on their teams. And somehow Steph's supporting cast is good enough to discount how great he's been this year and in these playoffs.

I personally enjoyed Lebron when he was originally with Cleveland. Now it just makes me sick as he has to put an absolute superteam around him (in the east nonetheless) to get himself to the finals and he still cant come through. Then when Lebron sees that his team is getting long in the tooth he jets back to supposedly go home where they now have Irving and get Love to create a new superteam. Its the one thing I hate most about the NBA is this whole lets get our best friends who are awesome and develop a superteam. Lebron while a great player, gets more calls then anyone I have ever seen. I can still see him running over rubio with no call to win a game. I dont think he is nearly as good as he is given credit for.
