What little I've seen of Shved and Shabazz suggests these guys lack NBA-level athleticism, skill, and IQ. They don't shoot, handle, pass, or defend at anything resembling the proficiency of legit a rotation player. They are typically operating at a deficit in terms of raw athleticism. Oh, and they don't seem to know what the hell is going on at any particular point in time either.
Williams clearly has raw talent and some shooting ability, but the lights just aren't on. He's constantly standing still, rarely doing the little things, and always moping and/or goofing off. He's a bench player with a starter's mindset, and it doesn't look like this is ever going to change.
I know we're already shopping these guys pretty hard, but I'm starting to wish we'd handled them differently in the off-season. Was the trade market THAT bad? We could send our first rounders out, with salary from Shved/Williams, in exchange for even a single average bench player? Because right now, these guys aren't amounting to even that.

Horatio -- I don't think we've seen enough of Shabazz to know what we have in him. I would agree that he appears to be deficient athletically. He's a bit of a plodder. But he has decent size for a SF (reach and wingspan) and has proven to be a really good scorer in college. He is also, by all accounts, a really had worker. So I remain in a wait-and-see mode on him. Shved is another story. He got a lot of minutes last season and got significant minutes very early this season. But he has established a pattern of highly unreliable shooting and very poor decision-making. I think he definitely has the athleticism to play in this League, but he appears to be someone lacking between the ears.
As for Williams, (heavy sigh). So talented, but the apparent absence of the sort of competitive fire you absolutely need to succeed and tap into your potential in the NBA. You have to hope there's a NBA GM or coach who thinks he can get from Williams what Adelman has not. This is where you'd like to believe there is another David Kahn out there heading up the basketball department of another NBA team.

well Bazz is at least hard worker from what we know about him, i think they drafted him because there was some connection between him and Love, because if we wanted to draft player to develop with high ceiling Giannis or even Shroeder as backup for Ricky would make much more sense
Re: Shved, Shabazz, Williams: these guys are baaaaaad
I doubt any of the 3 are going to get you much in return and oddly I bet Williams has the most trade value at this point. If you could get something for him I'll admit i would now do it. What kind of sealed it for me was in the Cavs blowout I think it was (just watched that game this morning) he had a play were he gambled on D or flew past a guy contesting a 3 and went down the court and then when the ball was still with the Cavs he was jugging into the picture at a pace that was only faster than walking. Hummel and Dante would have been flying back into the picture. Williams isn't as maddening as Beasely but I am starting to real the breaking point with the guy. Its pretty obvious watching Hummel he is better than Williams at this point when you consider the whole package.
Shved...well he has looked about as brutal int he games I have seen as you can, but I say hold onto the guy for a while longer. Why? He is pretty cheap actually has some talent and I doubt has a ton of value on the trade market anyway. If he hasn't done something in the next 10 or so games thats not good. He needs to calm down. He is turning into a worse version of Rudy Fernandez with a little different skillset.
Bazz. Come on the guy is what 20 is a rookie and all that. Too early to just dump the guy. You can at least see his ability to go for offensive rebounds and that ain't the worst thing in the world. I don't love the guy, but I doubt there are going to be great offers out there for him.
Bottom line is unless the Wolves get more out of their bench than they have been getting this year they are going to have to make some moves. After Dante and JJ its crickets. Hummel and Turiaf are solid guys are going to help you by being solid and not screwing up. We need another player or 2 that can do something more than that. Hopefully Bud can come back healthy but I think we need another guy. They need a young player to step up out of Hummel, Williams, Shved and Bazz. I guess its possible Price becomes a decent rotation player if everyone else fails. I think this team is going in the right direction, but I also think we need more depth. Its nice to be worried about depth instead of thinking about how bad our starters are. lol

I think when Buddinger and Turiaf come back, it will allow the 2nd unit to spread a little more effectively, and will take some of the pressure off of Shved and Williams to perform. They clearly don't step up in the face pressure very well, but with a more complete second unit, they may function better. But to this point they have been awful.

With Bud and Turiaf out, Shved and Williams are being asked to be the 9th and 10th men in the rotation. That will shift to 11th and 12th men in a healthy rotation. Saying they will perform better once they are the 11th/12th men is a fantastic backhanded compliment

I know I have been a backer for DW to get more minutes, and certainly don't agree with Adelman's handling of him. That being said, DW making the allstar ballot is just a little ridiculous!
