Would like to have seen Flip target him, but not for that price.

I'm glad we have little Cap and roster spaces to work with this off season. It's brutal out there atm!

I'd take him at that price all day. Dude can start at PG if you need him too and can play SG as well. He is basically sort of a younger version of Calderon. If Flip had signed him for that deal I would have been more than thrilled. I thought he would have been a guy that Miami would have gone after. Instead they spent nearly that kind of money on McRoberts? Ok Meanwhile the Raps keep their guys and look good.

It's meaningless due to the qualifier, but it's not outlandish.

Ehh, that's how Q ended the argument, but he essentially began this debate by saying the two weren't that different of players... which is absurd.

Almost as interesting as any free agency move thus far is Chris Sheridan, formerly of espn I think, gambling to try to get the scoop to legitimize his site. He already reported LeBron has made up his mind to go to Cleveland. He was quickly brushed off. Now he's doubling down saying he stands by his source and call. LeBron to Cavs to be announced on LeBrons site.

Guy is out on a limb. Cleveland will move on if LeBron returns to Miami. Sheridan (already dangling by a string regarding relevancy) is toast and loses what little credibility he's got.

Bottom line is Gordon Hayward is ridiculously overpaid. Might be the most ridiculous deal so far and I like him as a player but that's silly. Q's point is why is he getting paid so freaking much money? Just someone explain that besides desparate GMs. Lol

(speaking in a whisper) Meanwhile down in San Antonio, Pops signs a multi-year extension, spurs re-sign Diaw and Mills. Shhhhh... Ok back to LeBron.

I like the Hayward deal. It's only 3 years. That can easily be flipped in a year or 2, or be more major cap space in 3 years when the Mavs can make another FA splash.

These aren't the 7 year Joe Johnson crippling contracts of CBA pasts

Alex - I think you mean Parsons. I also like that it is 3 years. Not 4 or 5 years. It could even have an out option in year 3. Who knows. I think the Mavs did it to put the Rockets on the clock. I think Parson would be a great fit with the Mavs.

Parsons right my bad.

Also the point is still valid. Contracts are so short that teams are hardly crippled for long. Remember Rashad Lewis 6 years 118 million? Raef Lafentz signed a 7 year 70 million deal once. Brian Grant got 7 years 86 million!

Now those are bad contracts

"So to get Bosh at max AND keep Parsons, Daryl Morey just needs to dump Asik, Lin, Jones AND Motiejunas with no salary coming the other way", -Larry Coon twitter.

We should probably help Houston out here and try to get Jones from them. Maybe something like Jones here, Barea to a third team and a 2nd round pick to Houston.
