Lol you are right. Bennett's biggest problem was that he was a fatass, BUT that was not his only flaw. He too lacks a high BBIQ and don't get me started on his motor. Watching him play defense was just awful. How you separated Williams and Bennett is not fair at all, though. The homer in you shined through beautifully.

longstrangetrip wrote:I agree, bleed...I see this as good news from two perspectives. First, as you said, it has to help Bennett with his conditioning. Secondly, he didn't have to go...it was just a suggestion by Flip. And it's such a grueling program, AB could have just told Flip he was staying with his own conditioning program. His agreement to go tells me that he is really focused on putting last year behind him, and having a terrific second year.

If your boss "suggests" that you do an assignment of some sort, are you going to do the damn assignment or just look at him and tell him "no thanks"? Let's not give Bennett a golden star for doing something Flip basically told him to do. They both know Bennett has an option in his contract. Earn your stripes, fatboy [Bennett]. If that means busting your ass in a hand-picked workout program from Flip, then that's a start.

I hope Bennett finishes the program and is much better for it, but there's no reason to give an extra pat on the back for doing something he didn't have to. Flip said do this, Bennett said okie dokie boss. That's how it went down.

Does Anthony Bennett have a player option? I have heard this mentioned more than once, but per Hoops Hype he doesn't. In other words, if Bennett doesn't show marked improvement over last year, can the Wolves shed his $5.8 million contract for 2015-16 which balloons to 7.3 million in 2016 and 9.3 million in 2017. I am fine with giving Bennett essentially a one year trial to produce and I hope he can deliver. But if not, his contract becomes burdensome if we decide to keep Thad Young and extend Ricky.

Good to hear. This year is a like a long job interview for Bennett. He'd be crazy to not enthusiastically follow Flip's suggestions. Hope he gets in good shape and can surprise us in a good way.

Lets cut him now to make room for GR3.

Cam this is getting a little bit ridiculous, I mean we agree on a lot of things but give bennett shot, he might end up sucking, but don't take every chance you get to rip him, I am not a huge bennett fan either but I will at least have an open mind about him and that he just played in the NBA one year. I mean Pek didn't look like an NBA player after year one, Lance didn't play meaningful minutes until year three. There are also guys who look good after one year who turn out to be bust like Foye (not fully a bust) and Flynn. Give Bennett a chance

Maybe we can offer him with Wiggins for Parker.

I thought Cam made a good point about not giving Bennett too much credit for doing something Flip asked him to do. He still did it thought and it sounds tough so I'd say he deserves like half a gold star but obviously no cookies. lol I thought it was one of the most reasonable takes on Bennett Cam has ever made. =)

Side note: I guess we better take up a collection to get Cool a GR3 Wolves jersey. I wonder how LST is doing with his Wolves Love jersey. LOL
