A few notes about that inaugural Wolves team.

- Yes. Mahorn was picked in the expansion draft. Then refused to play here. So he was traded to Philly for a draft pick that became the first real failed Wolves tease from the wing: Gerald Glass.
- The team was all about Ty Corbin and Tony Campbell on the wings. I don't remember who played SF and who played SG. It didn't really matter.
- Pooh was not terrible as a rookie PG. The only thing ALMOST as bad as Sidney Lowe coaching is Sidney Lowe playing. He started about half the time.
- Breuer was traded back home during the season. Somehow, he actually scored 40+ in a game once for the Wolves.
- Tod Murphy played a lot. Scott Roth. Donald Royal. And a young SG was getting his first NBA action off the bench... Doug West was learning how to lose.

The coach, Bill Mussellman, was a bad ass. But, he got fired after the next season for winning too much. When talking about Wolves coaches, that's kind of ironic, huh?

Good stuff. Yeah, I can imagine Mahorn was none too pleased about going from the champion Pistons to the Wolves. But I guess he set the precedent for players not wanting to come here.

Didn't Musselman win close to 30 games our first year? I think we brought in Jimmy Rodgers after that, haha.

Forgot about Sidney Lowe-watching him backup over the half court line! Nice.

The Wolves won 29 games the 2nd season. And that's when he was fired for caring about winning too much.

And those 29 wins remained the high water mark for several years... and were the most wins by a Wolves team without Kevin Garnett... until last season. Mercifully.
