Givony was on Duncd on Pod and called him a 25 ppg scorer if you can live with the defense which will be bad. Says best ball handler in the class, great in pick and roll, hits 45% from deep while taking tough shots.
If he were an inch taller and 20 lbs heavier he'd easily be a top 2 or 3 pick. I'm not too concerned about his height. I mean, hell, Mike Conley and Jordan McLaughlin are shorter! But I am concerned about his weight. The front office must think his frame can take on more weight. Get that man some Popeye's!
LOL. Edwards can help him bulk up. :). I do worry about his weight also. And while I’m not concerned about his height or vertical length, I’ll not that his 6’3 wingspan is 2.75 inches less than Mike Conley’s. I think it’s Conley’s wingspan that’s helped make him a decent defender in spite of his 5’11 height and 175 lbs weight coming out of college. So I do wonder about the ability of Dillingham to be playable defensively with his wingspan and feather weight. If you’re looking for a comparable, think Trae Young who has a 6’3 wingspan like Dillingham and was 178 points coming out of college. There aren’t many worse defenders than Trae Young.
Yeah, even before reading this, while watching the highlights, you can see his arm length in relation to his body is like a normal person's, not like you typically see in the NBA.

I loved watching McCain in the tourney last year. I don't know what he will be at the next level but I like him.

Wow, the kid is electric. Can shoot the lights out. Handles are sick. Feel best case scenario could be Irving esque. https://youtu.be/ItlB7mvk888?si=mFaQte4O8zv1PE9w

He will be exciting to watch, for better or worse I can assure you of that.

I know NBADraftnet isn't the best site (but I don't pay for Givony's site), but its probably one of the most popular free draft sites. Where did Givony rank him? TheRinger had Dillingham at 9.

The thing I am thinking is, since we are such a defensive oriented team already. He's going to be forced to up his game on that end. You simply can't play with all the other elite defenders and not man up on defense, it isn't allowed. Now it may take some time for him to learn for sure. But the one thing I see with him is his quickness which can help with his size issues. Quicks can help make up for lack of length. We sure do need another shot creator and bucket getter long term also. I like the pick (though I just did a quick study on him). I'll trust TC on this one. Great trade too. 2031? Eh, who cares. We need young guys now.
Not sure how laterally quick he is. We have learned that being quick north and south has almost zero correlation to being quick east to west.

He does seem more like a Malik Monk/Jamal Crawford/Lou Williams shot maker than a starting PG that can steady the ship, defend, and run a half court offense.

I got side-tracked...

Dillingham seems like a great addition for what ailed us the most -- bench scoring from the guard position. While it might be nice to imagine he could be Conley's heir apparent, it is quite possible he is simply our scoring spark plug off the bench. Either way, I think this is a great move.

Conley first move after joining the Wolves was seeing the deficiencies from Memphis playoff series - rim protection and rebounding. Answer: trade for Gobert. Our deficiency in these playoff was bench scoring: Answer: make the move to draft the top scorer available.

Nice!

How does Dilli compare to Brandon Jennings, measurement-wise?

1. Reed Sheppard - Gone to Houston
2. Devin Carter — Gone to SAC
3. Rob Dillingham - Gone to Spurs
4. Carlton Carrington — Gone to Portland
5. Jared McCain - Gone to Sixers
6. Nikola Topic — Gone to OKC
7. Terrence Shannon
8. Tyler Kolek
9. Jaylon Tyson — Gone to Cavs at 20
10. Harrison Ingram
11. Baylor Scheierman
12. KJ Simpson
OK. We already have one of my 12 guys. 7 of my favorites are left with 12 picks to go before #27. I don’t see any point in drafting Kolek or Simpson at this point. So I’m hoping we end up with Tyson, Ingram, Shannon or Scheierman.
Five of my original 12 are off the board. We have one of those 12 in Dillingham. I’m no longer interested in Kolek or KJ after getting Dillingham. That leaves 3 left from my original favorites list with 6 picks go go before #27. We’re getting close to where we can trade up to get a guy we really like by simply packaging 37 with 27.

I’m hoping we end up with Scheierman, Ingram or Shannon. I was just about to ask of we should draft Missi. But never mind. Is there anyone else the Wolves should target?

I’m thinking the Wolves might trade out of the draft, packaging 27 and 37 for a lottery-protected future 1st or maybe trading 27 for multiple future 2nd round picks.

6 more picks in front of us. Collier, Kolek, Shannon and Scheierman are all still on the board, along with a lot of other guys that could help. Maybe a big man?

Rob Dillingham's measurements at the combine...

- Patty Mills: 5'11.25 / 6'2 / 175
- Darren Collison: 6'0.25 / 6'3 / 166
