Re: Lynx talk
kek, what happened to Kliundikova?
Re: Lynx talk
Got picked in the expansion draft by Toronto. She is not coming over this year and isn’t playing in WNBA this season it sounds like.
I think the Lynx were surprised by how many people left in FA. (Every player not on a rookie contract was a FA)
The Lynx role players got massively overpaid though.

Olivia Miles is excellent. I'm not a big fan having to pull up the games on victory sports app, hopefully the Wolves have a better option to watch the team next year with Fanduel gone.
Re: Lynx talk
The one thing that is good though is every game is free. I don’t like that it’s not on my tv apps but it’s hard to complain about freerapsuperstar31 wrote: ↑Wed May 20, 2026 9:27 am Olivia Miles is excellent. That's true free is good, just a pain to grab the roku controller, switch tv sources and get into it.kekgeek wrote: ↑Wed May 20, 2026 9:34 amThe one thing that is good though is every game is free. I liked what AI saw out of Hamzova in preseason Hof is a little undersized and not as athletic as other options but she looks skilled and smart so I think she will be able to help hold things down till more people get healthy. They could also end up just signing someone although a few weeks ago Reeve didn't seem to excited about spending more cap space on a hardship player but another key injury may force her hand. They could also play undersized. King isn't very big but put up some big rebounding numbers in college and looks to have a massive wingspan for her height.kekgeek wrote: ↑Tue May 19, 2026 11:02 pm Players they lost
Bridget Carleton: Starting SF to the expansion draft and got a max
Alanna Smith: Starting center and the DPOY last year to FA and got a max and is struggling in Dallas
Hiedaman: runner up for 6th man of the year to FA in Seattle
Jessica Shepherd: 7th man and backup PF/C to Dallas
Dijonai Carrington: 8th man, lost in FA to the Sky she is still hurt from last year
Masha: 9th man, backup center lost in the expansion draft and not playing in the WNBA this year.
The Lynx lost a lot.
Returners:
Courtney Williams: got the max for 2 years, moved back to her natural SG position. Elite mid range jump shooter. Maybe the most streakiest player in basketball history
Kayla McBride: long time vet. Moved to 6th all time in 3s made
Kosu: second round pick last year. One of the youngest players in the WNBA. The WNBA has weird rules in you can go pro if international in the year it turn 19 but USA players it’s 21. She is currently the 8th man. Good defender but just a cutter on offense was the last player on the team last year.
Injuries:
Phee: Top 3 player in the league. Like cool said she only signed a 1 year deal and made weird comments about her future. Expected out into the all star break from the non call last year, the play Cheryl freaked out about
Dorks Juhaz: was the 8th man 2 years ago but didn’t play in the WNBA last just. She is back after being named the youngest euro league mvp ever. However she hurt her foot in the playoffs overseas. Expected back soon and I’m expecting a massive jump.
Emma Chekova: signed her as a 4 year undrafted international rookie. She’s 21 and so freaking good. So much potential but she tore her ACL in the 3rd game of the year. The Lynx are the only team with an international scout and Cheryl found a real diamond in the rough here. Sucks she hurt.
New players:
Olivia Miles: #2 overall pick and she is freaking amazing. Good finisher, elite passer and is a complete floor general. Needs to get a more consistent jump shot but is the ROY favorite (NY has an older international rookie who has also been great)
Natasha Howard: Starting Center, older vet who came off the bench during the Lynx dynasty years. Elite as a roller in the PnR. Can be a little turnover prone, undersized and is missing FTs this year after being good her whole career.
Nia Coffee: currently the starting PF. She is from Hopkins and Amir’s sister. This is am example of Cheryl doing her magic. Last year she had 3 games of 11+ points this year she already has 2 and playing elite defense.
The rest of the bench: our bench is really bad at the moment. Caldwell, Delare and hamzova have brought almost nothing in their minutes (Caldwell has been ok) and Hoff is playing due to Chekova injury and she is so so bad as a 28 year old rookie.
Overall the Lynx need to keep around 500 until Dorka and Phee are back and then who knows. They are so well coached. Cheryl will put average players into positions to succeed and she is the greatest coach of all time. Highly recommend watching the Lynx because Olivia miles plays such a controlled fun brand of basketball.
The WNBA had a lot of movement this off-season but it's easy to forget most of these players haven't been here for more than a few weeks. Caldwell has been here for more like a few days. Reeve has her work cut out for her but from what I've seen is a bit remarkable how they are doing although some credit goes to The vet guards and Miles as a rookie playmaking passing PG.
Re: Lynx talk
You might be right Monster. The Lynx were back to the well oiled machine yesterday destroying a solid tempo team and the bench was really good. Good call on king she got her first minutes last night and played well.Monster wrote: ↑Wed May 20, 2026 1:13 pmI liked what AI saw out of Hamzova in preseason Hof is a little undersized and not as athletic as other options but she looks skilled and smart so I think she will be able to help hold things down till more people get healthy. Just in general so much fun watching the greatest coach of all time. In no way should this team with all they lost and the injuries be able to compete and execute like they do.

Re: Lynx talk
Good to hear about the free Victory app to watch the games.
I'm interested in seeing the rookie PG in action. Her game log is incredibly consistent through the first five games... especially as a rookie.
Reeve is one helluva coach. Her legendary status would be near untouchable if not for at least 2 heartbroken (including one stolen) losses in the deciding game in the WNBA championships.

Caldwell had a nice game and she seems like a solid player they got for not a whole lot.kekgeek wrote: ↑Fri May 22, 2026 9:52 amYou might be right Monster. It will be interesting to see Kosu get some more run. She is sort of an intriguing player just turned 21 a few weeks ago. Coffey seems like a good player for her to learn from. I actually got them confused for each other watching highlights in this game.
Yeah King looked to have a nice game and even went 1-2 from 3 which means she has now doubled the amount of 3's she had made in her limited WNBA career. If I remember right the one she made was at the top of the key. If she was even a moderate threat to make a 3 that would be a somewhat significant development. When researching about her that was one of the biggest knocks on her coming out of college. Undersized and couldn't space the floor at all? She seems to move really well.
It's really impressive how Reeve and her staff are able to do what they do. They don't hit on all their picks but they usually find at least one player every year that wasn't supposed to be good and then they make them at the very least highly useful rotation player. The ability and talent for that is impressive.
Re: Lynx talk
I think some people are also not a fan because she has come off a bit cranky at times. I've been watching her media stuff this year and she definitely was making a point of how Chicago was better than them after that game but what I have seen this year is someone that knows what they are doing and also seems to be having quite a bit of fun.AbeVigodaLive wrote: ↑Fri May 22, 2026 10:03 am Good to hear about the free Victory app to watch the games.
