That seems like a pretty good return for Aldama who I do like.

Re: 2026 FA/Trades/Resigns
I googled to confirm our guy Bagley signed for the vet min and I clicked on an NBA reddit thread. It seemed like most people there (including fans of Washington and Dallas) said Bagley is a backup (some said at best) and it also sounded like he was more of a C than a guy that can play PF. If that consensus of those posters is anywhere near accurate I don't think we have a ton to be sad about. Let's see what we end up with.

I agree, Monster. Bagley had great promise coming into the league, but he has significantly underperformed his potential. I think we dodged a bullet here, as I don't think he would have been a good option at PF.Monster wrote: ↑Thu Jul 02, 2026 8:36 amI googled to confirm our guy Bagley signed for the vet min and I clicked on an NBA reddit thread. Not sure where I should have put my thoughts here but this offseason really emphasizes the new apron era that we are in. Since the 2nd apron era has became a thing we have had 3 different champions in the Celtics, Thunder and Knicks. There has been 1 supermax player to win a title and that is Kat and that situation is super unique because their best player took a pay cut no player has ever taken in Brunson (I still think there could be under the table stuff with his dad). We have seen elite non all star level players on good contracts be traded for 4+ 1st round picks in Bridges and Bane. Then All star/All Nba players in Ball, Kawhi and Brown go for a total of 5 1st round picks (not including swaps).
Teams like the Jazz were in a weird spot they have been terrible for 4 straight years (Why I think they lost the Rudy trade pretty badly), they use some of the assets from the Rudy trade to acquire JJJ. But because of JJJ terrible contract, they are unable to resign Kessler without needing to worry about the aprons long term so they trade Kessler for more future picks. From a team that I thought would of been sneaky good next year to another non threat (Assuming Petereson is not a gamechanger from game 1). They will also have a really hard decision to make on Keonte George next offseason, is he worth the money he is going to make? Are they going to sell off their 2 legit players they got from the Rudy trade because of the apron era and continue to be bad but Angie will be fine because he keeps acquiring picks so the will still have "hope".
I think the wolves are going to have a very though decision with Ant in 3 years. Can you build a contender around a super max player? I honestly don't know. I think the Thunder are built best to build around a super max player in SGA but even them they had to salary dump 3 legit role players. In two years should the wolves be looking to trade Ant because of the supermax. In todays apron era is Jaden more valuable than Ant because of the value contract he is on.
Just some of my thoughts in this ever evolving apron eras though more data points we get. I do think the wait and see approach and building internally might be done in the NBA. I just don't think you can devleop and keep players together like the dynasty's of the NBA past did. We might get 10 different champions this decade.
Just wanted to get my thoughts out there because its what I have been thinking of.

The apron rules will probably get tweaked after the current collective bargaining agreement expires.kekgeek wrote: ↑Thu Jul 02, 2026 10:20 am Not sure where I should have put my thoughts here but this offseason really emphasizes the new apron era that we are in. Anfernee Simons to the 6ers. Oooooh boy they got something going there. They should trade Embiid for something they can count on every night, and they might be unstoppable.

How about Rudy for Joel plus some 2nd round draft picks? Forgot to add: Just kidding.Coolbreeze44 wrote: ↑Thu Jul 02, 2026 1:26 pm Anfernee Simons to the 6ers.
