Giannis is going to Giannis, but I'm encouraged how Kuminga took on that challenge and didn't embarrass himself. His defense is going to be a plus for us.

Agreed. I thought his willingness to fight for defensive post position was great. Played within the system on offense alsoCoolbreeze44 wrote: ↑Wed Oct 21, 2026 9:33 pm Giannis is going to Giannis, but I'm encouraged how Kuminga took on that challenge and didn't embarrass himself. Really did a good job keep his balance and keeping low center of gravity. He's a lot stronger than i thought. Not like he's going to play against guys much stronger than Giannis.Coolbreeze44 wrote: ↑Wed Oct 21, 2026 9:33 pm Giannis is going to Giannis, but I'm encouraged how Kuminga took on that challenge and didn't embarrass himself. No real quibbles with your grades Kek, nice job.
Re: Kekgeek grades vs heat G1
I have no issue with any of your grades, kek. Weird that Rudy didn't make a shot (I guess Ball didn't unlock him yet!), but his 15 rebounds were a big part of our massive 52-35 advantage! And I'm glad many of you are giving JK a shout. Only one rebound, but he played the same high-level defense I saw him play late last season. He plays hard. Joan played hard too...you can't criticize his effort...but he's still learning the game. I think the 14 minutes Finchy gave him is about right, and we didn't get our butts kicked while he was out there.

If Kuminga basically does every game what he did tonight, with obviously some ebs n flows to that, then he is in a for a good season and so is this team as a whole.
Also, 30 threes between Ant and Melo is crazyiness.

I just like how after Heat cameback on a 9 point run we did not let it ruin us like it has often with other team iterations. We just went back out there and went back to work after the timeout.

They were leaving a decent amount of space for both Ant and Melo to knock down 3's. I think certain teams will try and really take away the 3, then we'll see more rolls in those nights. But take what the defense gives ya. You get great looks from 3, take em all night long baby. It's the way to maybe beat the Spurs too. Really an ideal start to the season. I hope we lead the NBA in takes and makes from 3. (sorry Chuck but you're a clown!)

Good point, WF. I also found it odd that there was so little pick and roll all night...seemed like only Rudy was screening for Ball. In fact at one point LaMelo looked a little frustrated when he was at the top of the key with the ball and nobody was moving or coming to screen. Oh well, difficult to criticize anything in the offense tonight...so many open looks.Wolvesfan21 wrote: ↑Wed Oct 21, 2026 10:15 pmThey were leaving a decent amount of space for both Ant and Melo to knock down 3's.
