Dalvin clearly had the ball still in his hands and was down.

That call was close but how did they review that Jefferson challenge and not give him the TD? That was one of the most frustrating games I have watched in a long time. Oline with 3 million penalties and guys whiffing on dlineman. It's honestly sorta impressive either Vikings had a shot at winning this game. Cousins had to overcome bad field positions all those penalties a couple drops. He had some poor throws and I'm not saying he was awesome but it was a clown show out there.

Meanwhile the Kicker and punter did their job. The coverage teams look like they can at least cover punts again. That one punt late in the game was unbelievable and Joseph had a clutch 53 years FG...and we still lost. It doesn't help I got crushed in fantasy...I have Aaron Rodgers as my QB. Lol

I agree with you on that Jefferson TD Challenge. How is that not a TD? Not that it would have changed the outcome, but seriously what a horrible call.

Chase really looked good in his first game. It will be interesting how the Bengals do moving forward. I thought this would be a matchup of the worst OL's in the league and our stellar DL would win the day. Not so much. The Bengals DL is underrated in my opinion, but we are in huge trouble next week with Chandler Jones going against Hill.

I'm a little more detached emotionally from the Vikings, WF, compared to the other local teams, but I have to admit I got into this game after the 4th quarter comeback. And while I tend to agree with you on the Cook call that clearly cost us the game, I admit I may be seeing it through homer eyes and I can understand the "inconclusive" judgement. No excuse for the Jefferson call though, but as others have said, the only impact was costing us a time out (and didn't impact the game).

I thought Cousins was brilliant in this game, despite his woeful offensive line giving him no time...not to mention all the stupid penalties. I was so high on Bradbury when we drafted him, but he seems to get constantly bullied out there. Tingelhoff and Birk he is not. Our FG kicker hitting that 53 yarder at the end of regulation will do a lot to increase his confidence.

We'll likely be a touchdown dog next week in AZ and be 0-2. Tough to see this team making the playoffs, especially since I predict Cousins will miss at least 2 games with Covid issues and nobody wants to see Mannion. My brother tried to convince me that the Biden mandate for employers of over 100 employees would be good because Cousins might get vaxed now, but I think it's actually bad news. He won't get the shot but will instead choose to get tested weekly along with other anti-vaxxers on the team. And you know there will be some positive tests, and everyone non-vaxxed player will have to sit out. Now that I think about it further, he may miss half the season with Covid issues even if he isn't positive himself. Get ready for a lot of Mannion.

That challenge did impact the game to some extent though. Another timeout and maybe the Vikings get one more play (or more) and get into the end zone and win the game.

If Cousins did miss as many games as you suggest I doubt we will see a lot of Mannion I think we will see Mond especially if the oline sucks. Mannion moves less well than Cousins (Mannion's height might help him a little throw against pressure*) so Mond could at least go out there and buy some time. I believe at some point he may be elevated to being the backup QB this season.

* One thing that isn't brought up too much with Cousins and probably should only be considered a bit is that he is a smaller guy and while not wildly undersized it does probably hurt him a little in seeing through everything.

Yeeeep, to me it was pretty clear. His butt was down for multiple frames while showing his hand firmly gripped on the ball still. They also need to stop making these damn guess work calls in the first damn place. Refs need to have the ability to decide as a crew to review a call when they have no idea what happened/didn't see it instead of just guessing. Then they wouldn't need crystal clear/without a doubt evidence to overturn fairly obvious bad calls.

They are f'ing MULTI BILLION $ league and the amount of times they don't have proper replay angles just pisses me the hell off. Like when JJ cross the goal line, but they didn't have the angle right down the goal line. Like... how TF can you not have cameras positioned there 24/7? It's not like they can't afford it. With Davlin they only showed I think 2 angles, which is pathetic. I understand during pile ups, scrums, etc it's harder to see, but ffs maximize your chance of seeing things by having enough camera angles in the first place.

I saw this little gem pointed out yesterday during the game.

"Pressure affects every QB, but over the last 3 years if you just MOVE Kirk Cousins off his spot in the pocket, his PFF grade goes from #7 to #34"
https://twitter.com/PFF_Sam/status/1437113652017078274

That's quite damning and that's simply causing him to move, not even be flushed out of the pocket, just forcing him to move IN the pocket is all opposing teams need to do.

You see it with him. There is such a small window for success. Which is why when it doesn't matter he is great. But when a team brings the house on him he crumbles. It's really frustrating.

Garrett Bradbury should be given a short leash. I totally agree with this guy.

It's a fucking joke. Agreed on the JJ "non" TD too, where is a fucking camera on the goal line? We got a bunch of either imbeciles as refs, camera crews, replay officials or they are simply betting on the winner. I think they are imbeciles. The entire show is shit.

You're right that the OLine failures are only magnified because Cousins lack of ability to scramble, move in the pocket, find guys open. When the line protects he's pretty dang good, but when they are not he's not.

They were certainly not opening up lanes for Cook either, especially down the middle. It was a brick wall everytime they tired to run down the middle.
