I'd argue that what I recall of Elflein last year was worse than even Samia. At least Samia gets push in the run game. Seattle's D might not be very good, but their run defense was. Recall a year ago when Elflein not only was getting penalties left and right, but he was constantly in the lap of Cousins. He was absolutely terrible. Our guard play needs to improve 10-fold. On the bright side, our center and tackle play seems to be pretty solid thus far.

Looks like Ezra Cleveland is about to get his 1st start at RG this Sunday. The future is now.

I wonder what we are thinking of him longterm. I thought LG made sense and I would not let journeyman Dakora Dozier keep him from playing LG if that is where they want him to play. This season is about the future moving forward. Play him at LG.

Idk if LG is his future or not. Maybe they didn't want to mess with Dozier moving over. There was one play Against Atlanta Cleveland escorted the D-tackle into Cousins. He literally did nothing, and Blocked no one until Bradbury was beat And it was too late. The Vikings couldn't run on Atlanta which was pretty problematic. To be fair (Certainly Not blaming it all on Cleveland) Cook being out is a difference maker as a RB even though I'm a huge Mattison fan.

I am not sure either, but it seemed like he was practicing LG mostly. It seems to be a more common path to LT. I just wouldn't let Dakota Dozier keep him from playing LG if he was better at LG or they want him there in 2021.

I'm not concerned about Ezra at this point. He was up and down in his limited play so far. I can take that from a 2nd round rookie who was thrust in a bit earlier than he might be if our OL wasn't suffering injuries, especially at a position that isn't his natural.

Elfien has been released. I guess the hope at this point is some team claims him and saves the team a few hundred thousand in salary...not that it matters that much especially if Cleveland continues to play well at RG.

Picked up by the Jets. I hope it clicks for him. He had a promising start here but was never the same after that Philly game.

Ezra has been pretty great the last few games. Maybe a bit overmatched last game a bit with Hicks, That dude is a beast. He would pick me up and pound me into the ground if I tried to block him.
