Moneyball was a very good movie. But it's not a favorite of mine.

The Twins beat those A's with a lower payroll doing things that were ripped mercilessly throughout the movie. I know that analytics has changed baseball... with valid reasons to support it.

But the fact that the movie glosses over that the "old guys won" in the movie was a big distraction for me. Little things like that (provincialism) bother me for some reason.

For example, I didn't like Miracle as much because Neal Broten was probably the least touted player on the entire team in the movie... yet he was ultimately, arguably the most heralded player on the team.

I don't know if I have an ordered list.... but...

Field of Dreams. (I grew up playing A LOT of catch with my dad, who died. That part alone masks any other issues for me)
Major League.
Bull Durham.
The Sandlot.
Bad News Bears.
For Love of the Game. (Costner can throw, believably)
8 Men Out.
The Natural. (I have many issues with this one. But still...)

Favorite? Major League. Sheen Sober. Snipes emoting. Steve Yaeger Pitching. Pete Vukovitch batting. Major Hollywood magic.

Least Favorite? Moneyball. Beane's job was never in jeopardy. Art Howe should punch whoever decided to have PSH play him. Criminally small role for Ron Washington. And Bert said it best: "Beane is probably upset they didn't get a better looking guy to play him."
