Hopefully it's just the "builder" part that's going away. Let's hope the domain remains active so we can carry on with this existing site.

I finally had some spare time between work and travel (and the Wolves have a few days off!). I have the scraper thing-a-ma-jig running now. It's been going for about 6 hours and the database file it creates is about 200MB and growing. I have no idea how long it will run. I guess I will see where it is at when I get up in the morning.

The next step is to start up a new forum somewhere. phpBB will be my first attempt, and then experiment with what is needed to load the old posts in. Lots of stuff left to figure out. My plan is to throw something together so we can play with it, and then re-scrape the old posts when we agree to switch over.

Everything I have read says this forum will die on April 30th...

And to add some more gobbledygook...

The scraper is running on a CentOS Linux inside a Virtual Box running on my Windows work computer in Minnesota. I had a terminal shell from Texas VPN'ed into the CentOS Linux and wouldn't you know, there was some sort of network glitch around 11pm last night and I lost 6 hours of work! Grrr... So this time I used a Remote Desktop to restart the scraper in a terminal shell that is actually running on the Minnesota computer, that way network glitches between Minnesota and Texas won't affect the scraper. It's been running a good 9 hours and... wait.. it just finished!!!

Onto the next step, which is figuring out what the next step is! ;-)

Sorry about the loss of 6 hours last night! Thanks for doing this. I'll buy you a nice dinner out if you're interested!

After your previous post I read a bit more about what was happening with the Enjin site and it's a good thing you started working on this as yeah looks like it's all over on April 30th.

I'm glad you have the technical know how to accomplish this. It would have taken me a long time to figure any of this out or even to figure out what I needed to figure out to get to the point you are at. You are many steps ahead! :)

We are going to need to erect a 60 win statue somewhere in honor of Tim continuing our legacy. Maybe a graphic to don the new cyberspace?
