So you are saying we should pick up Kevin Love off the buyout market?!? ;-)

KAT fully recovers in time to get into a couple regular season games to close out the year. Then is available as a limited minutes bench guy for the playoffs. That wouldn't be horrible to have a three time All Star available to come off the bench would it?

Sadly, I don't know if Towns (or many of today's young stars) would do that.

How does it benefit THEM?

No - I don't disagree with your (superstardom) take or others who are of the opinion he's done for the year. I'm just trying to make lemonade.

I have given up hope that he's coming back to the starting line up. That may not be a bad thing based on what we saw at the start of the year as it would take time to adjust. But maybe...just maybe he can give us something. I'll take 10-15 minutes of KAT over Naz in the play offs - thank you.

Let's see how it plays out. They screwed this whole time line thing up at the start. But maybe now they are doing the right thing and bracing us for the worst. Remember we heard nothing about JMac's return. Then all of a sudden Rivers got suspended and suddenly JMac was healthy. None of us know what the hell is really going on behind closed doors. I'm sure at least some of it will come down to whether we are playing meaningful games at the end of the year.

Now, I'm all in skeptic mode. Damn it.

Let's say the Wolves are lingering in the playoff race but are probable to make it. Again, where's the incentive for him to return?

If they make the playoffs, cool. Was it because of Towns... probably not.
If they don't make the playoffs... oh oh. Considering the guy would be coming off a 50-game hiatus and trying to fit in... it's pretty clear who's getting blamed.

Again, this is just the nature of today's game/fandom.

Apparently Jon K was on Barrero today and no update on Kat going forward. Kat was not a practice with the team today. I'm guessing he is going to be shut down for the year

Yeah, I listened to the segment, kek. It was mostly Dan and Jon expressing their frustration with the lack of transparency about the injury. And yeah, Jon also said KAT was not at practice today. I don't know...I still see him coming back by the middle of March. He was with the team on the entire West Coast swing and seemed to be quite engaged. There's no hint of any limp when I watch him moving (and I saw him moving a lot during timeouts when I was at the Charlotte game). And I keep hearing Ant talk about "when KAT comes back". I don't think he would be saying that if KAT wasn't giving him some indication he was close. I get that this is the Wolves, and things don't generally turn out well for us. But if I had to bet, I still think he's back for that 10-15 games he talked about a few weeks ago.

FNG - We've just won three in a row. We don't need KAT! :)

At this point the way these long term injuries have been handled I'm not sure I'm gonna take the info/lack of info about Towns coming back to mean anything one way or another. Obviously if he was about to come back and was doing awesome and we heard something that way it would be better than the nothing we have now. Id agree hearing nothing is less positive but it seems like the way the team is handling this they just aren't saying anything. I'd rather see Towns back but at this point other than basically what FNG reported we have very little info to go off of. Nothing I can do about it anyway even if I do have a poultice made out of Mayonnaise, pop tarts, ranch dressing and red vinegar that does wonders on calf issues but nobody seems to want to try it.

It turns out that the usually reliable Jon K was incorrect about KAT's presence at practice yesterday. Dane Moore says he was definitely there. He couldn't report on what level of activity KAT was involved in because it was a closed practice, but he was there. Good news I guess.
