Wishing you a complete and speedy recovery, Cool!

I was just diagnosed today with a stress fracture in my tibia. A combination of running and tennis. It came to a head with a hard stop chasing a ball in a tennis match yesterday. Suddenly the minor pain became a really bad sharp pain. No surgery necessary. Just need to let it heal for the next 2-3 months. You're hobbled with knee surgery and we find out that Tim just had eye surgery. Most message boards would fold under similar circumstances. But we're fighting through the injuries and surgeries to remain the best sports message board in the Nation. :)

Good luck and healing to all the walking wounded out there!

Cool, I believe when you posted about your first knee surgery, I replied with an endorsement of post-surgery rehab. I had two rotator cuff surgeries over the course of 12 months (one torn due to a slip on the ice, the other due to thousands of batting practice pitches), and at the advice of my very good surgeon, I dutifully did my rehab a half hour ever day after each surgery. It was painful at times and a little boring, but I got rid of the sling a month early both times, and I'm totally pain free now. My golf handicap went up 5 strokes when I finally got out on the golf course after the second surgery, but I'm happy to say it's almost back down to pre-surgery level (not that low, to be honest) And my fastball is topping out over 60 again!

Lip, our character as a board is impeccable. We make the extraordinary seem routine. Best wishes on your recovery.

Yeah, your advice really helped me. I attacked the rehab with a vengeance and am going to do so again. If you're sitting at over 60, your going to have to come up with a second pitch. Or maybe it's time to become a knuckle baller?
