I agree with Cam on Flip. Let's look back at the 2013 draft. Flip traded down from a pick he could have used to draft McCollum. With the two picks he received he drafted Bazz and Gorgui instead of Giannis and Gobert. He still had one more 1st-round pick and Gobert was on the board. What did Flip do? He sold the pick for cash. That draft alone puts Flip below McHale and Rosas in the Wolves PBO ranking even though drafting KAT and LaVine were terrific moves, although I'll note that Flip would have drafted Nic Stauskas over Zach if Nic had still been on the board. Flip was a great guy and I think he was a terrific head coach. But his all too brief tenure as our PBO wasn't stellar.

I'd question Flip's second stint as a coach too, as he was still way too enamored with the mid-range jumper and running old fashion pin down sets for 20-footers when the rest of the league had moved on.....

As for Pat Bev, I think his impact would be neutral to negative. I haven't really kept up with him since he went to the Lakers, but my guess is that his motivational tactics are largely ignored by grizzled vets like LeBron, AD, and Westbrook. They don't need him as their pump man.

The danger with the Wolves is that he comes in on his high horse and ends up getting ignored here too. May be one year was enough (?). And one thing I do know is that his production on the floor is deteriorating quickly, so that would be the worst of both worlds.

Well since Bryn Forbes can't break the Wolves shooting curse, he isn't providing anything more useful than PatBev could so, sure.

This franchise traded a 26-year old Thaddeus Young for that sort of ceremonial thing. Flip Saunders, man...

KG was 1000% worth it. It is a shame that Glen Taylor can't swallow his ego to recognize the only nationally recognizable figure we have ever had on this team. What the hell has Thad done that warranted his cap space hit.

Flip took KAT over Okafor, saw LaVines potential, and was one of our best coaches. I take that over whatever other garbage was running the franchise every other year.

Thad Young ... Umm he has been a lot of places playing basketball.

I'd be all for Pat Bev coming back. He would instantly help our terrible perimeter D. All we need from him as a scorer is to knock down open 3's and facilitate the offense a little bit.

I've seen lesser players leave one team and find their shot or whatever it was that made them reasonably valuable. Unless there is something I don't know about Beverly I think it would probably make sense to bring him in. Yeah he has a weird unique personally etc but I think I would take the gamble it's pretty low risk. At the vet min just cut him if he is really bonkers. He played with a lot of these guys and Finch coached him and was with the Rockets back in the day. Isn't one of the biggest issues on the roster defense on the perimeter? Plus every time we play the Lakers Pet Beverly is gonna celebrate like we won the Finals if we beat them. It would be kinda ridiculous but I would be kinda here for that. Lol

Lol. Nice post, Monster. I think you've captured my thinking on Beverley.
