Only the Vikings could give the Steelers their coach for the next 20 years in Tomlin to stick with Childress and then proceed to do it again with Stefanski to the Browns with Zimmer.

I will never understand that move. Tomlin's talent as a coach was so obviously great, while the others were so obviously terrible.

Zimmer should be fired. He is supposed to be a defensive db guru, yet he has been supplied with constant #1 or #2 picks of CBs and we suck in the secondary. We just let 3 of them walk.

Spielman should also be fired. He has failed to build an O-line for 10ish years, and paid a guy that plays best behind an o-line.

Spielman has hit on a quite a few rough diamonds in later rounds, as all teams do by chance, but his track record first and second round sucks.

Sometimes?

He's hit big on Jefferson, Cook, Kendricks, Barr, Rhodes, Harrison Smith, Rudolph, Peterson and Rice in Rounds 1 + 2.

That's actually pretty impressive. At least a couple of surefire HOFers, no? Jefferson looks like an amazing talent.

Someone that knows more about football than me can confirm this...Isn't Rhodes having a big bounce-back year after looking way past his prime and being targeted last year? If so, that is very Wolves-esque for him to move to a different team and have vastly more success.

I think fans always think it's greener on the other side. I love spielman. Like look at your draft class, seems like we got for sure 4 NFL starting players in Jefferson, Danzler, Gladney, Cleveland with Jefferson being HOF talent. Wonum looks like a good pick also with 3 sacks in only 10 games.

Obviously if you do it this long you are going to have misses in the 1st round. He misses on Kalil (was an 1 time pro-bowler though), Treadwell was for sure shit, Patterson (top 5 returner of all time), Floyd (Good player but surgery was screwed up and ended his career), Hughes (injuries).

He's had 15 seasons with a player personal role for the Vikings. Only 2 times did the Vikings draft in the top 10.

He's a great GM and will be a massive loss of he goes

I wouldn't even say Kalil was a miss because he would have been at least a pretty solid LT which is pretty valuable but he couldn't stay healthy. There were no red flagS for injury that I was aware of. Hard to put that on Speilman. Meanwhile Speilman replaced him with Reiff who is a decent LT. Look around at some of the other Left tackles teams have signed to big money during that time...just one example Kalil is out of the league. There were others that ended up cut or became expensive Sometimes below average RTs. Other FA olineman have worked out much more poorly although Remmers was on ok signing at RT but they replaced him with O'Neill which made him have to slide to guard which didn't work out but ultimately that wasn't a deal that hurt the team too much.

Also Spielman hit pretty big on O'Neill. If Bradbury and Cleveland are legit interior lineman (looking good for Bradbury Although hopefully he continues to improve) the line is a couple young players away from coming together with a group that could stay together for a while. The Vikings should be looked at negatively for their oline the past few years but there has been some movement in the right direction and some of that is because they have actually used sole higher draft picks on those positions.

Oh and let's not forget he traded up to Take Teddy and that was a pretty good selection (Even an average starter at the end of the 1st round is pretty good) but unfortunately Teddy got hurt.

Anyone getting Jimmy Butler vibes with the Harden situation in Houston?

Butler at least came in and made it clear to everyone he wanted out. Harden meanwhile is just hanging out in Vegas and being passive aggressive.

Being from Minnesota, I prefer the passive-aggressive route.

So you are saying you want to experience Harden's passive-aggressive route when Rosas trades for Harden?!? ;-)

Now that'd be some big-game hunting! Harden would NEVER want to play in Minnesota. Not enough playthings to indulge his banal existence outside of basketball.

I'm still holding out hope of an eventual Towns to Houston, Harden to Philly, Simmons to MN swap happens in the future. Simmons is exactly what we need as the primary playmaker with Russell, Beasley and Edwards on the wings and defensively he slots right in to cover wherever we need it. Philly gets their primary scorer that they need on the perimeter and Houston gets a franchise big to build around and have a veteran PG in Wall to run PnR with him.

John Collins did not sign his extension with the Hawks... unlike almost everybody else of significance from that class. In a weak FA class... and with the improvement he's shown... and if he shows even more this season... he could be the marquee FA next summer, right?

He's good but Kawhi is the marquee FA next summer again. He's likely opting out and getting a new deal even if it is with LA and if this year goes bad again he may just leave.

Yeah. I knew there had to be somebody huge on the market. I was just too lazy to look. Or edit.
