Kek, we should always be looking for a bigger piece, but this isn't the reason.

The rumor is that two teams would enter the league after the 2024 season. Considering Naz Reid, Jaylen Nowell, and Malik Beasley could be free agents after next season, I doubt expansion would seriously play into any of the decisions concerning their futures in Minnesota.

I also don't think Leandro Bolmaro has generated interest from (m)any teams around the league. I think he's a flop. We don't need to worry about him being plucked off the roster.

You bring up a fair point to consider in the future but according to the report expansion is at least 2 years away. Most of those guys you list will become unrestricted FAs before then so they may not even be on the roster when expansion happens. There are other reasons to deal though de guys like upcoming FA. It will be interesting to see what the rules are but last expansion draft didn't exactly feature many players worth noting going to Charlotte.
