Well that didn't go well, but something to build off of. I do wonder if at some point they will regert letting Boone go. Eatson has been the weak link in the line so far.

Man it's a good thing Bradford wasn't out there. Keenum did a heck of a job only getting sacked twice. Dude was running for his life out there and to be honest did a pretty decent job. He had some pretty nice throws.
Cook looks like the real deal running the ball. Now if he can real in those catches. Maybe the sun got in his eyes this week. :)
I was cruising at the TV watching the condensed game. I could t figure out what the heck they are calling PI in the NFL in this game. It also seems like they call PI on plays that are typically called holds. Oh well the Vikings shot themselves in the foot on other plays and other dumb penalties. Because of all that I don't think the score reflects some monumental difference between these 2 teams...except the Vikings oline looked bad.
Quigley had a very good game punting the ball. Forbaith with another missed PAT. The first one was like oh well it's gonna happen but back to back weeks? It's weird. That type of stuff gets kickers pink slips and Forbaths KOs have been just fine. The problem is if you bring someone else in are they sure to be better than Forbath all this considered? Idk. Weird we are back to this can't find a kicker again thing.
And Treadwell did well.

I am to the point you move on from Forbaith at this point.
Treadwell did very well. I wonder how much of that is the QB. I am sure Keenum and him practice together a lot.

Last time we moved on from a kicker we got Forbath who has at least made all his FGAs and been solid on kick offs. It's aggravating, but it could be much worse!

I think the guy in camp seemed to be just as good. I guess we could roll with him and hope he doesn't have an issue moving forward. Hopefully he doesn't cost us a game.

Until we lose a game because of Forbath I'm fine keeping a guy who's hitting 100% of his 3pters. A missed PAT can be made up with a 2pt conversion so I don't think we should can him based on that.
O-line sucked. Nobody could have played well behind them, especially a hobbled Bradford.
Waynes sucks. We just can't afford to give up big plays like that either via PI or just getting burned.
At the end of the day PIT is a top shelf team so there's no shame losing to them on the road. Just wish we wouldn't have handed it to them on a silver platter.

Are you sure Koehn would be a better option? Something to consider and I'm not against him being the guy.
https://www.google.com/amp/www.twincities.com/2017/06/13/strong-legged-marshall-koehn-battling-kai-forbath-to-be-vikings-kicker/amp/
"Koehn had accuracy issues as an Iowa senior in 2015. He was a solid 16-of-20 on field goals but was 47 for 53 on extra-point attempts."
Missing that many PATs in college is concerning.
Look I'm not saying keep Forbath but there are a lot of flawed kickers out there. It was nice when it seemed like we had this kicker thing solved when Walsh was drafted and was terrific right away. Sigh It's possible Forbath turns it around and kicks well the rest of the year also. I'm sure after a 2nd week in a row of missing a PAT they are looking at what options are out there.

Meanwhile it's only been 2 games but Quigley and the punt coverage unit had been fantastic. In 8 punts he has 4 inside the 20 with 4 fair catches zero touch backs and teams have -1 return yards. He is 5th in the NFL with a 44.0 net rating. Kearse has had a couple terrific ST tackles on that unit already.

Waynes was a split-second too early or that would have been a great play. And Rhodes P/I should have been a 5 yard hold. And those are the two drives PIT got their TD's on.
The problem is there's a better QB than Keenum sitting home and everyone knows it. It would be a real shame if one (or more) guys lost there job(s) because they couldn't/didn't use the best player available. I think the trick is to kneel when a statue of a general of a defeated country gets taken down.

Kahns I am absolutely onboard with your with your takes about this game. Well I tend to side with Jason on Waynes but I think it's fair to say just 2 games in we know anything for sure.
Want to have your mind blown? PFF CB grades so far this season:
Alexander #23
Captain #57 (he sucks!!! Oh wait...)
Waynes #84
Rhodes #79
Newman #42
Good stuff. :)
