Do you really think he is a fit on this team? I understand wanting to see him start playing better with the starters in hopes to raise his trade stock, but that's about it.

Question: Did you like how our team played through our first four games? I did, and I thought Young was a (not the, but a) reason why we were competitive. Obviously Rubio is the cog that makes this thing work, but I am more than fine with waiting to see how Young's game is affected. He needs Rubio to get him the ball in places he'll thrive. Young's always been at his best in the painted area. Right now, he's having to create those shots on his own. Either way, Young is not an above average rebounder, but he needs Pekovic to help him on the glass. Dieng's a good rebounder, but he doesn't take up as much space. And Young needs Martin to space the floor. We still have no legitimate shooter on the court. It's harder for all paint players when the defense doesn't have to guard the three-point line.
So, is Young a fit with THIS team? Williams - Wiggins - Budinger - Dieng? No, I think it's fair to say he is not. Is he a fit with Rubio - Martin - Wiggins - Pekovic?
I don't think there's an answer yet, and if there was, it'd be leaning towards maybe.

The answer for the second group is still no. He and Pek still give up a bad FG% at the rim. Ricky and Martin can't help with that. That hole is just too big to overcome in today's game. You just can't let the other team shoot that well at the rim and win more than you lose.

The other comment I would make is that you can't pay a guy $10M per that needs every playing scenario to be perfect in order for them to succeed. That player needs to be a catalyst, not a bit piece that thrives off everyone else.

Pek isn't an above average rebounder, Young is downright terrible. They are both poor defenders and a bad fit next to each other. Neither can block shots, and both are poor help, and PnR defenders. They both rely on others to get their offense. There is no upside to keeping him, and as Hicks pointed out, the price tag is way too high. Young should be making the mle. He is a tweener, with way too many holes in his game.

I could easily give you a list of guys that make around that number who need others to help their games.

Do they need the whole lineup to help though? And are their contracts considered a good deal?

No way this deal involves Adams.
Hopefully it is for Perkins and a late 1st round pick. Maybe even get Lamb or Perry Jones out of it.

Why not if OKC is getting Lopez?
