First off, controlling what you eat has absolutely nothing to do with a foot or back. Be a disciplined human being and fuel your body properly. You don't gain 50 pounds of bullshit weught without eating food that's bad for you.

Secondly, he's refusing to cooperate with Philly's conditioning. Uh, hello, that's an attitude problem. Fitness technology is so advanced that there's an exercise for all kinds of people with different issues. I don't get his issue.

Thirdly, he's been out of a cast for some time now. Rehab yourself and do what you can to get back on the court. That's his job right now. That's what he's been collecting money for. Clearly he hasn't been doing his job if he's 50-ish pounds too heavy. It's called being a professional.

PS: Not sure Bennett is your best selling point. A shoulder issue, sleep apnea and him being overweight weren't why he was horrendous last year, but man, those are some overused excuses.

You're so full of it with Bennett that you took me talking about his physical makeup as again excusing his rookie year. I was strictly talking about him getting in great shape coming into this year. Pull your head out of your ass. It's really annoying at this point. By the way, the year Percy Harvin addressed and fixed his sleep apnea (through legitimate means) he was a front runner for league MVP. Sleep is extremely important and to throw it away like it is not a valid excuse is BS.

Also if the team told him at the beginning of the year that he isn't playing this year in the same way they did Noel last year, he has zero reason to really try to get back to playing until next season. There weren't any attitude issues off court before this season so I'm going to go with the tanking club mismanaging the situation so he can't play this year but next. They aren't being professionals as an organization so as far as I'm concerned they are getting what they deserve. Asking someone to work their butt off with no chance of playing this year so they can stay on course with their tanking goals is BS. Noel said himself he could have played last year.

1) That dude doesn't look CLOSE to 300 pounds.
2) Kid is only 20 years old, hasn't been allowed to play a single game in the league yet, and is dealing with the (recent) loss of his brother.

Some of the opinions in here are just insanely brutal. Young kid dealing with emotional loss of his brother, doesn't have his close family members even in this COUNTRY, and he can't get onto the court to escape the (sometimes harsh) realities of life.

Media creating BS.

I'd take Embiid over any big in this years draft and even with his injury concerns.

Where there is smoke there is fire. I am not saying it is 100% true, but something is not right. Funny how he was the first person to the gym today after this. We will see if anything more comes of this.

Here's another one, but this one actually addresses what he is able to do at this point for the doubters: http://www.philly.com/philly/sports/sixers/20150118_Inside_the_Sixers__Questions_surround_Embiid_s_conditioning__maturity.html. Direct quote from the article:

"Because of the foot injury, his conditioning has been limited. Embiid can only do things such as use the antigravity treadmill and take long walks to generate a rapid heart rate."

Sounds like he can do a whole lot to stay in shape.

I can't say the same. To me, there's too many significant red flags.

Funny how the original article in this thread states that Embiid is not allowed to give interviews because he is injured...so basically everyone involved in this situation (team, executives, coaches, media, etc.) can comment on Embiid and these various "issues," but Embiid himself can't say anything. Weird.

Clearly, this is all part of the Sixers' master plan. Embiid will need at least another season to lose the weight, so Philly is just assuring they'll be tanking for a high pick this year and next. Then, right about the time Noel starts to become a good player, I expect they may actually trade him for more future picks, then tank some more to get more high draft picks.

It's genius actually. If you need to be bad to get good, imagine how good they'll be if they are intentionally bad to get high draft picks for nearly a decade! Look at us. We've been sh*tty for nearly that long and we're clearly on a cusp of a championship dynasty thanks to all these high picks that have netted us transformative players like Johnny Flynn, Wes Johnson, Derrick Williams, the list goes on. It's like an All-Star roster, this team. And all we had to do was be terrible for a decade to get it.

So be patient with your fat Embiid and your D League team Philly, it's all part of the plan. I'm sure your team will be as great as ours one day.
