Poorly?
Please explain.
17.5 ppg
6.7 reb
4.1 apg
50.0% fg
38.3% 3fg
85.5% ft
Positive OBPM, DBPM and VORP.
If that's poorly... how do we describe how 98% of the players to ever wear a Timberwolves jersey played?

Agree with you Abe, hayward is not at where he was when he played for the Jazz or before the injury but damn he is still an all star caliber player. He just everything right on the court. He is for sure worth 20+ million a year in my opinion.

I'm not interested and he won't be coming here.

I would be interested in him. I highly doubt he would come here. Rumors are Celtics, Pacers (in a trade for Turner) or there are some rumors the Hawks might want to offer a big deal to him. Where they want to start competing while Young is still on his rookie deal.

How about you take a look at his playoff numbers this year and get back to me on how I could have come to my conclusion?

Gotcha. So you're dismissing a larger sample size... and running with a 5-game sample... with 4 of the games coming from a guy recovering from a Grade III ankle sprain... an injury that usually takes many weeks (or even months) to recover from... and sometimes even requires surgery.

I guess that Antony Davis guy who was going down every other game in the finals and that Bam Adebayo guy who was playing through shoulder and neck injuries should have played a lot worse then to match up better with their injuries. Guys play hurt in the playoffs every year and somehow find a way to not see a complete drop off in their play. Dropping 10% on your shooting percentages and 1/3 to almost 1/2 of your counting stats when you are out there for 30 minutes a night is poor and inconsistent play. If you are able to play 30 minutes out on the court then you can play through whatever injury you have and I don't think that's enough to warrant just throwing out everything because he's hurt.

I'm really not. I'm just not making excuses for someone who was supposed to be a major piece to help Boston make it to the finals who didn't get it done. Again, so many guys play through injuries in the playoffs. Every year comes down to a war of attrition. He didn't get it done as a major piece of that team.

Nobody is refuting he played poorly in the playoffs.
You wrote that he wouldn't even get a MLE if he kept playing poorly and inconsistently... obviously, you weren't only talking about the playoffs.
You went that route after I posted his pretty damn good stats amid a much larger sample size. Anybody who saw those stats would realize even the MLE based of only 4 games is a ridiculous argument.
