The Clippers are in talks with the Hawks about a potential deal for Rajon Rondo. That's not good for the Ricky Rubio market.

Wow, I guess! The two firsts are a big haul.

And how about those in-the-know NBA pundits? They spend weeks talking about Gordon, and then 3 other guys get traded! Doesn't mean Aaron doesn't go today too, but how to keep your ear to the tracks, guys.

Are they?

Vucevic is a 25/12/4 guy.

When are the picks? There's a good chance they won't be lottery picks. There's an excellent chance neither one ever becomes a 25/12/4 guy.

I read those picks are top-four protected. Those could be pretty valuable picks.

Depends on how you see Chicago moving forward. And when those picks happen.

Right now, the Bulls would project to pick at the tail end of the lottery. But obviously, since they're getting the best player in this trade for a couple more seasons, it's fair to assume they'll be an improved team.

And with Vucevic being the team's most expensive player ($26M this year... $24M next... and $22M in 2023)... I think they have cap room available this summer... unless they trade for somebody like Ball and sign him for $20M+...

The Bulls did clearly get the best player in the deal, and that's the rule of thumb for how deals are evaluated. Two picks though. The Bulls had to do something because they have lost 4 out of 5 and haven't really been starting a center. How two high volume guys like Zach and Vucevic share the court will decide whether it was worth giving up two firsts. Could go either way...will be fun to see how it develops.

The Raptors did REALLY well IMO. Gary Trent jr just turned 22 in January. Remember a couple years ago when Powell was a bad contract? Good times. Also remember that Powell played on those UCLA teams which produced some solid NBA players (and Lavine who was a bench guy as a freshman) and...Bazz who is out of the league. I was a big fan of Powell as a late first round 2nd/round guy coming out of that draft.
