My goals this offseason were to a) get a legit big man that can battle in the paint for 20 MPG and protect KAT, and b) upgrade the backup SF position.

We have not done part a. yet and I honestly don't know if Prince is an upgrade to Okogie - I guess they will fight it out in camp.

The Beverley deal was unexpected, so that is a plus and I do think he is a better fit than Rubio even though I think of them in a comparable tier in terms of overall value. PBev is just a better fit for what the team needs are right now.

Option B Jake Layman has no spot here anymore. Plus my wife always comments on his pretty blue eyes and I get tired of hearing it lol.

The Twins are damned if they do and damned if they don't in regards to Byron Buxton. Either they'll sign him to a more lucrative deal and he'll continue finding ways to get injured or they'll trade him away and he'll find the potion of excellent health for the remainder of his career.

Also, roughly 10-percent of people worldwide have blue eyes. Jake Layman is among those. We cannot support this kind of elitism anymore! All Eyes Matter.

I voted B, as long as they are getting a player worth unloading a 2nd rounder that seems to be the best bet to me. I'd expand it to merely trading Layman + 2nd out whether it's a direct trade for a big or just to free cap space to sign one.

This could involve the Wolves joining as a 3rd team, like sending Layman + 2nd to OKC, something moving between DAL/OKC and DAL sending a big to MIN. (first rough example that came to mind, but idk who the moving pieces would be)

If they can't agree with a player worth while, then ride with C.

I could see Minnesota hopping in the Chicago and Dallas sign-and-trade that appears to be brewing. Perhaps something like this.

Chicago: Maxi Kleber, Jake Layman

Dallas: Lauri Markkanen (three-years, $36-million)

Minnesota: Willie Cauley-Stein

Now, I'm not sure that excites me that much, but it does help with roster balance and adding a defensive big to supplement Karl-Anthony Towns.

Option D

Beasley, Beverly, Bolmaro, and 2-3 first round picks for Ben Simmons

This is certainly an option, just not a realistic one at this moment for several reasons.

It looks like a runaway for Option B, and I just added one vote to the pile. I have targeted two main priorities to improve this team going into next season in order of preference.

1) Although I was somewhat pleased with DLO's performance in the final weeks of last season, I have been skeptical of the Wig/DLO deal from the start, and still don't think a team can be successful with him taking up $30 million of the cap. So when Simmons flamed out in their final game, I had a fleeting moment of optimism that the Wolves and Philly could swap their two max guys. But as the price tag kept going up, I realized DLO was not going to be moved this offseason. Option A is too much to give up for Simmons.

2) I love Vando, but we don't know that he is ready to step in as our starting PF. So assuming we can't move DLO, our best chance of moving closer to a 40-win season is finding a big man to put next to KAT. Option B seems like a reasonable path toward that end.

Good options, Cam...very thought provoking.

I was initially thinking about the CHI/DAL trade potential and then got OKC in my head lol. I wouldn't mind that swap though with WCS being an expiring as well.

You're such a clown. Who are you to say what's realistic and what's not. Seems just as likely as your proposal.

I said it's not realistic at this moment because Patrick Beverley cannot be aggregated with other salaries considering he was just acquired via trade. That's how the NBA Collective Bargaining Agreement works, dickhead. It's not a horrible proposal, but it's not a realistic one right now.

Furthermore, if the Sixers were willing to make that trade, don't you think the Wolves and Grizzlies would have expanded the trade into a three-team deal in which Beverley could have been packaged with the other assets Bloop mentioned? I know I do. Memphis has to open a roster spot before the trade can be made official, but what was suggested would have happened already if it was acceptable for Philadelphia.
