Really looking forward to watching this team again, although I realize that will probably wear off relatively soon.

All the same, we probably shouldn't expect much. These guys haven't played in such a long time, and the guys who are arguably the most important possible X factors, Edwards and Culver, are still young. I don't have a lot of hope in Culver, but the guy's at least got to improve his FT% this year. We should probably temper our hopes on Edwards in particular. In addition to all the flaws he showed in college that he'll need to grow out of, it's probably going to take a while before we know how good he's going to be. He's really young and doesn't have much experience at this point.

Still, can't wait to see this team again.

Have to think they'd have somebody with a bit more length to handle JJJ at the 4. But those are our four best players and our #1 pick, so I see the logic in giving those guys a lot of minutes this year.

I'm not sure of who the fifth player will be, but I'm feeling pretty confident that we'll see a starting lineup that features Ricky Rubio, D'Angelo Russell, Juan Hernangomez, and Karl-Anthony Towns.

Does the team roll Malik Beasley out there? Ignore defense completely? Or do they start Josh Okogie as he's probably the most suitable candidate to start at the three? Or do they throw the young buck in Anthony Edwards out there?

Or do they surprise me entirely by keeping Rubio on the bench and rolling with last season's starting lineup that started both Beasley and Okogie at the wing positions?

I agree with you, Cam. The biggest mystery is Rubio's role. There are great arguments for him both starting or coming off the bench. I wouldn't be surprised in the least if he starts one of these first two games and comes off the bench in the other.

I completely forgot that tonight features a return of Tyus Jones!

The biggest element of intrigue for me is Edwards. He's our biggest hope for any real improvement and I can't wait to see what he looks like. I also hope McDaniels gets some run. Like Drew said, I don't have a lot of hope for Culver or Okogie for that matter. But it will be fun to see a game again.

By the time Edwards becomes any good, we may be out of time with KAT and DLO. He just turned 19 a couple months ago. I would be shocked if he was much help this year.

If Edwards will be able to help I feel like we should be able to see something worthwhile at the end of this season and next season. Derrick Williams ended up not really being an NBA player and we just kept waiting. Even if Edwards is just a Wiggins type he would help more than Williams of Bennett or Wes Johnson or Flynn. Seriously the bar isn't high for Edwards...or even Culver.

If edwards can look as good as Patrick Williams did last night I will be extremely happy.

I wouldn't say that's that high of a bar to achieve, but I just want to see Anthony Edwards in constant attack mode. Get to the rim!
