To me the path to DLO actually coming here is...he wants to come here over another team. I think I'm done trying to figure out what my professional players want to play certain places so...hey sure why not here I guess. It's not insane that he would want to play here.
To me some sort of sign and trade seems possible. As other have said in various threads i don't think Teague is a complete negative assuming he is believed to be healthy. I'd guess it would take some sort of asset to move him and some sort of asset to give the Nets to make the sign and trade happen. These assets could be KBD or 2nd rounders. I don t think it's completely unrealistic to think that's all the Wolves would have to do to make it work. If the Nets get Kyrie I think they may be happy to get a minor asset and get DLO to a new spot. They may like the idea of sending him to the west. I'm not really getting my hopes up too high but I don't know if it's completely unbelievable either. Seems like there is some legit smoke around this whole thing.

I think that's right. My sense is that Russell wants to play for the Wolves. It's probably largely because of his long-standing friendship with KAT. But it might also be his sense that he'd be the only ball-dominant shot-creator on the team given the skills and tendencies of the Wolves other guards and wings. Assuming I'm right, then the Wolves need to do two things to get him: (1) agree to pay him the max starting around $25M because some other team will likely offer the max and Russell's ego probably won't let him take less to come here; and (2) clear about $30 million in salary through a salary dump or a 3-way sign-and-trade while renouncing all their cap holds including Tyus to get just enough cap space to give Russell a max contract.
Obviously the hard part will be clearing $30 million in salary. Obviously, we have to find a team or teams with the cap room to absorb $30 million. I don't see any realistic scenario for the required $30M salary dump that doesn't include both Teague and Covington. Their two salaries combine for almost exactly $30 million. Teague has value as a good starting caliber PG whose contract will expire the end of next season. He also has playoff experience and is widely regarded as a very good teammate. Covington has value as a very good 3&D player in his prime with playoff experience. So the key will be finding a team with $30 million in cap room that would view getting those guys as a positive. And even then, it might require additional assets to persuade the receiving team to take those two contracts/players. The additional attractive assets the Wolves could provide short of Okogie or KAT would be Culver, KBD or Reynolds (largely because his contract is non-guaranteed).
I don't see any lottery team that would find Teague and Covington an attractive combo acquisition. That's why World's Celtic/Nets and Warriors/Nets 3-way scenarios make sense. Both the Celtics and Warriors are contenders who want to remain contenders and could benefit from high caliber role players like Teague and Covington. Of course the Celtics might prefer to simply use their $30 million in cap space after Horford and Kyrie leave to sign a free agent to their liking rather than engage in a 3-way for Covington and Teague. But I can see a path for the Wolves if they're intent on getting Russell. Again, I'm not totally sold on Russell, but I did the possibility intriguing.

One option would be a combo pack of Tyus and Teague with Tyus being sign and traded to a team wanting PG upgrade. Seems unlikely but that would be an asset to a 3rd team that has space.
It would be interesting to know what the salary requirements are to sign DLO. I really wonder if he is a max guy on the open market. On the other hand if paying him the max gets him here maybe that's alright also. Do we have the official numbers for what the cap is this year? If it didn't go up much over last year having a max based on this year's cap may be somewhat more palatable. Of course Harrison Barnes just opted out of what 27 million? Hmm if he knows he is gonna get that or more maybe some teams aren't gonna he smart with their money this year. Barnes is a good player but not a max guy. I've spent too much time thinking about this. Lol

Dlo is 117.2/4 on a max deal.
We need to clear about 35 mill in capspace to sign him. So, basically gut ther roster to be able to max out dlo.
I'm not sure hes worth it.

If the Wolves trade Covington or first round picks for the right to massively overpay DLO, I'm calling Rosas, Kahn 2.0.

I'm eager to hear your explanation for why.

Listen to everyone, but if you want a realistic take from a trained basketball evaluator, I will do. Regarding Culver, I saw him quite a bit last year and I don't see the upside some of the pundits do. But I'm just one guy with an opinion. Obviously I hope I'm wrong.

Im all in on dlo because he is better than both teague and covington and his impact will be bigger on a team. Its a star driven league. Russel gives us elite volume 3pt shooting and pick and roll play maker. He keeps the ball moving and space the floor very well. He is a star.
Also, this is the best opportunity we have at dealing and getting the most value out of teagues expiring and covington. If we dont deal teague's expiring now then it diminishes as we get near the trade deadline. Same thing with the saric deal. That deal was a steal because saric is only going to net us a 2nd rounder if we hold onto and deal him at the deadline.
Both teague and covington are coming off injuries as well. With roco, we have seen the best version of him. If we are a championship contending team, or a team with 2-3 legit stars then Il keep him. But we only have 1 star now and no other means to get 1 unless we move covington. I prioritize adding a star talent than keeping a super role player at this time.
In an ideal wolves world, we dump teague and dieng contrat with ease and add dlo while keeping roco. But it does not work that way in reality.

The first line of this reply made me chuckle. All in good fun and I'm not attempting to start anything, but this thing where you act like your basketball prowess is somehow higher than others here because you coached amateur girls basketball is pure comedy.
You're good for the board, Cool, but come on now. "Trained basketball evaluator" is quite the spin.
