Psst... Getting a first-round pick plus cap space for Ricky Rubio was a great deal. We can debate on whether or not the right moves were made after that, but that deal alone makes a ton of sense.

It wasn't as bad as the Butler acquisition, I didn't think Rubio deserved to be traded but the value was OK. I thought Teague could be a very minor upgrade, now he's a downgrade. Rubio wasn't way overpaid so his value was fairly decent to get the extra pick. I'm more meh on later round picks though now too, they rarely return much.

Either way we are looking at a lottery pick. Why not? Although to be honest I'd like to see this franchise moving forward for once, and not to Seattle.

I wonder how Rubo and Bulter would have meshed. Leadership and playing wise.

Rubio isn't a SAB like Wiggins has been so I think he could play with Butler.

Hard to say for sure, but I would assume they would have meshed at least as well as him and Tyler Herro have.

Don't forget to check out "Tyler Tuesday's" on Jimmy Butler's Instagram. It's quite funny.

Honestly if you put Covington on the market he would return more than either LaVine Or Markkanen Individually. Lauri isn't shoring well and putting up pretty average stats right now. Culver I gave no idea what his value is right now but I'd guess it isn't in the toilet yet.

If the awolves has traded Jeff Teague this offseason for a future 1round pick and cap space people would have been anointing Rosas as a freaking Genius. Sure Rubio had more value at the time and was paid less but still it was simply a good trade. I'd certainly rather have Okogie the next X amount of years than Rubio who in a couple years...who knows.

Edit:

I'll add one other consideration is salaries. Covington makes 7-8 million less this year than LaVine. Lauri and Culver make roughly the same amount of money. Lauri has one more season after this year then he will he a RFA. How much will he be worth? How much will Chicago be willing to pay him and how much will a fan like us feel like he is worth? Money/salaries make a pretty big difference when it comes to impact on the roster.

Anthony Davis got great this season and will make the playoffs for the 2nd time in 9 years.

Kind of the same thing for Kevin Love, he couldn't win a game for Minnesota, but then he carried Cleveland all those years winning an NBA Title.

Weird.
