We have to hope Glen sells the team, If Glen passes, I'm not sure those who control his estate will be as determined as Glen to condition a sale on keeping the team in Minnesota.

I would think Becky would be the person who would be the person deciding the terms of a sale if Glen passed away. You are probably right she might not be as motivated to keep the team here as Glen* but if it was his last wish she might be a pretty tough sell in that regard.

*It's clear that Becky and the family isn't wanting to keep the team long term but would they be willing to keep it for a couple years till they found the right buyer? Maybe. It may depend on what kind of product was out on the floor. Christmas dinner at my house tomorrow is lasagna... :)

So we get one connected writer tweeting about the value of the Wolves being dropped below $1.5M. And then that same writer a few hours later drops that an expansion team could fetch $2.5M.

Questions abound...

1. Is he getting a cut from Glen Taylor?
2. Is he doing the NBA's bidding... in helping out an old friend sell his team?
3. Setting the groundwork for a new owner to emerge... buy the Wolves... and move them... while saving $1 BILLION dollars?

Glen is getting what he deserves. It may even get worse, and I hope it does. Taylor initially paid less than 90 mil for owning interest team and plus 54 million from the city to buy target Center and at the time said he paid too much.

What a hero he's been keeping the team in Minnesota. He'll likely eventually agree to an owner who wants to move when it becomes such a gap in purchase price.

Silver was on the Jump a while ago and said expansion is fairly likely to happen. I don't think the Wolves are likely to leave as two new teams and cities come in.

If an ownership group can buy the Wolves and move them for cheaper than the projected 2.5 billion expansion fee then they're gonna do that. I don't see expansion as protection for us. We would just move to Vegas or Seattle and the next city would pony up.

The owners will forego $2.5B with relocation instead of expansion. The League also values this upper Midwest market. So there will be a lot of League resistance to relocating the Wolves. And say what you want about Glen, but among his positive qualities are his loyalty to MN and his related desire to leave the team in MN as part of his legacy. Note also that Windy is notoriously unreliable and likes to broadcast his speculative musings. Put it all together and there"s a huge gap between Windy's latest musing about the Wolves relocating and what is likely to happen.

Is there anything about owners voting or Silver having any power to only allow expansion versus buying up Memphis, Cleveland, Orlando or MN and moving them?

Maybe we get bought out and we get the expansion team.
