Knicks fans here cant stand Randle. They wouldnt deal Barrett and a first to get rid of him though

Not against it, but not many likely scenarios. If ayton comes back and looks good, and the suns have a top 10 pick, I could see ayton, oubre, Cameron Johnson, bridges, that lottery pick plus another unprotected pick. That's a lot! But do the suns say really say no to pairing booker and towns?

KAT should and would bring a sizable return if we were to trade him. BUT, he is SO bad defensively that we tend to overrate his abilities. I don't ever want to have to trade him, but you can't build around him unless you find a rim protector to play alongside. To me that is the real decision. If you don't want to put KAT at the 4, then you should probably move him. Having him be your 5 is a waste of time.

Think about Rubio dishing the ball off to towns and booker. Saric would still be there too.
The wolves would have to get that type of haul for me to be ok trading Kat. Collins, hunter, reddish/huerter and two frps would be interesting too. If we came to the point of entertaining offers this offseason, we could real cash in on a few teams desperation to pair their star guard with a star big.
Right now, I'm all for getting dinwiddie away from the nets. Covington Okogie and a 2nd, or whatever similar package it takes. I see this swap as the perfect match for both teams! Get the value right and let's do it
Edit: Pumping the breaks a bit on spencer. Didn't realize he was only 30% from 3

If this organization can't build a contender around KAT, it won't be able to build a contender from scratch no matter what assets they get in return.

If KAT continues to be a player that can't carry his team on his back like a super star should be able to at times I'm willing to gather assets and hope to hit a homerun in the draft. Either approach comes with its own risks. But what makes us believe he can carry the burden?

Yep, if kat cant carry this team to the 8 seed this year (when the 8 seed is currently 14-19), in his 5th year, then it's time to start building assets, IF we can get a really good haul.
Idk I'm just SO tired of being a loyal fan and seeing this team put out a G league lineup, with a high school head coach. Our talent evaluation is so bad. Our only good player, was a no brainer and it sounds like we considered Okofer way too long on that one even:). Tired of seeing young guys like Sga blow up and it's never our guys :(. Oh well

Those are high standards. I dont think any 1 player can carry a team into the playoffs in the west, especially one with a poor supporting cast.
Look at this team with wiggs and kat out, they barely pass as fringe NBA players.
Star players can steal u a series, but you need quality depth to survive the regular season.

Yeah, I hear you, but look at the current teams out of the playoffs. Not one top 15-20 player currently out of the playoffs... well except our guy. Hmmm yeah he's still an all star in my book, but not much else
Re: Would you trade Towns
Hard to carry your team to anything when you aren't playing. I'd guess the Wolves would have pulled out a couple victories recently if he would have been playing despite Dieng magical advanced defensive stats. Lol
"This organization hasn't..." sure that's the history and all that but this new crew hasn't been on the job long enough to bury them yet. I think most of us knew things weren't going to get fixed in a year or probably 2. Maybe they aren't any good so far I'd still call it a mixed bag. Wiggins playing like he is actually kinda good is a pretty big deal. KBD is MUCH more efficient this season. Meanwhile there are guys like Graham Culver Napier who can't hit shots...it's bad. Jake Layman the one young guy they signed to a multi-year deal who when he was playing early on is sidelined with turf toe. It is disheartening especially after getting our hopes up a bit with that good start but I'm going to keep up some faith that better things are ahead. It takes more than a handful of months to build something like the Wolves are trying to accomplish.
