ESPN2 to Televise 2016 NBA Draft Combine May 12-13
Combine is First in Series of ESPN's NBA Draft Events (NBA Draft Lottery, NBA Draft)
New This Year: ESPN3 to Carry Full NBA Draft Combine Scrimmages
Two-Time NBA All-Star Caron Butler to Serve as Guest Analyst
ESPN2 will televise the 2016 NBA Draft Combine from 3-7 p.m. ET, on Thursday, May 12 and Friday, May 13. The event emanates from the Quest Multisport Complex in Chicago, Ill. This is the first in a series of ESPN 2016 NBA Draft events, which also includes the 2016 NBA Draft Lottery presented by State Farm (May 17) and the 2016 NBA Draft (June 23).
The ESPN2 telecasts will include whip-around coverage from the two scheduled five-on-five scrimmages on both Thursday and Friday, in addition to the regular set of drills: max vertical leap, no-step vertical leap, court sprint, shuttle drill, bench press and shooting drills. Simultaneously, ESPN3 will carry complete Combine scrimmage action from 3-7 p.m. both days. The 2016 NBA Draft Combine will also be available via WatchESPN.
ESPN2 commentators
Two-Time NBA All-Star Caron Butler (Sacramento Kings) will serve as a guest analyst for the ESPN2 telecasts. He will join the main crew, led by Mark Jones, who will serve as both host and play-by-play commentator during this year's coverage. Jones will be joined by a variety of ESPN basketball analysts, including Jay Bilas (college basketball analyst), Jay Williams (college basketball analyst), Fran Fraschilla (college basketball analyst, International expert) and Tom Penn (NBA analyst, front office expert). Additionally, Andy Katz (ESPN.com senior writer) will serve as reporter and Brooke Weisbrod will serve as social media correspondent.
ESPN will exclusively televise the 2016 NBA Draft Lottery presented by State Farm on Tuesday, May 17, at 8 p.m. prior to the NBA Eastern Conference Finals game at 8:30 p.m. (either Game 1 or Game 2). Additionally, ESPN will exclusively televise the 2016 NBA Draft on Thursday, June 23, at 7 p.m.

Re: NBA Draft: Combine and Workouts
Wow, the NBA combine, while somewhat interesting, just doesn't merit the kind of coverage and analysis being thrown at it by ESPN. But obviously there is an audience. I certainly pay attention to the measurements and the buzz from DX, but I just can't envision actually watching any of it. And this is from a guy that tries to catch all the summer league games...

I'm shocked. I mean you put at least .00496% into the equation of a draft prospect's total evaluation. Lol
If I am bored I might turn it on for a bit or something but overall I don't know what is too exciting about it but I do think they should televise (or whatever term means they put it up so people can see it) so that's good.
In a bit of contrast I do like seeing some of the NFL combine workout videos just to see roughly how guys move if they look surprisingly athletic or not or something. I'm far far from a draft expert in that sphere though and I'll pretty readily admit that. Lol

A.J. Hammons has withdrawn from the NBA Combine. Invited to play 5 on 5, but elected to continue training in Houston. Targeting select teams

Per Ford, Buddy Hield won't be at Combine on Thur/Fri. Graduating this weekend. Doing interviews, medical & measurements today. But no athletic test

Unofficially, the top three 2016 combine heights (without shoes)
1. Zhou Qi - 7'1.25"
2. Jacob Poetl - 7'0.25"
3. Thon Maker - 6'11.75"
Monster's take-
That's a lot of height right there.

Re: NBA Draft: Combine and Workouts
Lots of information to digest from the Combine: Here is a link to http://stats.nba.com/draftcombine/#!/anthro/?sort=WINGSPAN&dir=1physical measurements like Wingspan.
The Chinese guy Qi had a 7' 7.75'' Wingspan. That's one inch shorter than Rudy Gobert.

Re: NBA Draft: Combine and Workouts
The best athletes of the players who were tested were: Wade Baldwin, Kay Felder and Joel Bolomboy. Felder had the highest vertical and second best sprint time, but had a subpar agility test. Baldwin was second in agility, third in sprint and tenth in vertical. Bolomboy had best agility test and a top five vertical, but didn't run sprint.

Re: NBA Draft: Combine and Workouts
Anybody else catch the combine scrimmage games on Espn2? Most of the lottery picks sat out of today's games. There will be two more games tomorrow. Seemed like a summer league game. Cheick Diallo, Robert Carter, Cat Barber, Kyle Wiltjer and Michael Gbinje were the standouts in the first game. http://stats.nba.com/draftcombine/#!/scrimmages/thursday/BoxScore Game 1.

Thibs was interviewed at the Combine by ESPN. He was asked what the needs were and he said "shooting and defense". http://www.nba.com/video/channels/draft/2016/05/12/20160512-draft-combine-thibodeau.nba/?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter
