They had some gangster type characteristics on the court. But I'd take both their characters over KG's any day. As KG aged, the verbal abuse he would lay on opposing players was terrible, especially young players. It will never be a popular stance with my fellow Minnesota fans, but I don't care. Boston can claim KG, doesn't bother me one bit. And trust me, through his MVP season there wasn't a bigger Garnett fan than me. It's very disappointing to me how his on-court demeanor changed over time. He may be a great guy off the court, I don't really know. But a lot of the things he did on the floor were simply inexcusable.

I wonder how many titles Kobe would have won if he was drafted by the Nets or Charlotte.

Karl Malone impregnated a 12/13 year old... as a 20 year old... and then refused to acknowledge the kid conceived by the statutory rape. He refused to pay child support even as a millionaire athlete. To this day, he has refused a relationship with his son.

On a much less egregious note... he really was a thug on the court, too. He deliberately took out Isiah Thomas to the tune of 40 stitches.

So yeah... Kevin Garnett verbally abused other players. Meh.

[Note: Grouping John Stockton with Karl Malone for shady behavior is way worse/more forced than all those Wiggins + Towns tandem quips we heard for years.]

How does one complain about a lack of leadership for this team then hate on KG who is well known for leading by example. Doc Rivers had to shut down practice because Kg wouldn't sit. To him it was a sign of weakness to sit as a leader. And here we have our star players sitting for weeks because of some kind of flu? Embarrassing!

If trash talk negatively effects you as a player you need some mental adjustments. I personally think trash talk is perfectly fine in basketball. Maybe not in golf or some other courteous sports, personally I love it if someone trash talks. For the entertainment value or to hype me up personally so I can crush them. lol

So for KG to push the edge with some over the line trash talking, I like it. If no one ever pushes the line then the line keep coming back till you can't say anything without someone getting upset over words.

Well.........like I said, it's never going to be a popular stance with my fellow Minnesota fans. The ability to be objective about one's own is not a very common trait.

Obviously, Cool digs pedophiles.

[Note: That's a terrible post by me, right? Yours was awful, too. You were called out for taking Malone's "character" over Garnett and I provided facts to support it. Then, you double down with some dismissive comment about us not being objective? Lame.]

Kevin Garnett on Wolves owner Glen Taylor (and why the team hasn't retired his number): "I'll always have a special place for the city of Minneapolis and the state of Minnesota in my heart. But I don't do business with snakes."

Wow. https://t.co/X01fZEbb8c https://t.co/2QxiYLEmFb

Yup. And we've got a lifetime with the snake. The worst owner in the league by a mile. It makes me not even want to support the team further while that idiot is on top.

I had never heard that about Malone. If true it's obviously a despicable thing. How did he not go to jail?

As far as my comments being lame, that seems to be a familiar theme with you toward me. I'd wager you dog me 80-90% of the time when I make a strong opinion-based post. Perhaps you don't like my style, or maybe you just don't like ME. Whatever it is, it's simply impossible for two people to have polar opposite views on everything. I mean don't we have to occasionally be aligned simply by accident? You must gain something in these exchanges, I won't speculate on what that might be.

Anyway, yes it's not often rabid fans can look at their own objectively. For a long time I had trouble doing so with Andrew Wiggins. Before him I was a huge supporter of the Wild's Pierre-Marc Bouchard when a large segment of the fan base soured on him. But by and large I'm a pretty good judge of character. I don't hero worship, I don't dress up in a team jersey when I go to a game, and when my team stinks I can admit it. I root for name on the front of the jersey. For a long time I was a big KG supporter. But it was HIM that soured me, not something I did or concocted about him. The names on the backs of the jerseys change year by year. If the Wolves somehow win a championship one day, to me it will be the Twin Cities that wins. Not Towns, Russell, or some other place-holder in the jersey. I'm grateful for that perspective.
