I don't believe anything I read about the Wolves in the national press.

Yeah, that link had no information from any source that said Rubio was part of any conversation. It was pure speculation by a bozo back on the 18th...

I love how quickly the article just assumed Dallas would get #7 - nevermind the details of how they might actually obtain that pick, Rubio-Mathews, blah, blah, blah - OK, now here are our options at #7.....

One thing that did strike a cord with me was the mention of DSJ moving ahead of Frank on their draft board. I also think DSJ could be perfect for New York. That team needs an injection of some panache and excitement. Guess who drafts right behind us, but before Dallas? Let the bidding begin.....

(the one thing I'm bummed about is that neither team has a late 1st that they could trade us as part of moving up in the draft so that we could nab Collins AND Hart or Bell or Ojeleye).

It seemed the article was all over the place but it really read like they had some serious sources. So...I have no idea whether to take any of it seriously although I could sit in my couch and make some educated guesses and some of what was reported makes sense. DSJ looks like an exciting talent. Frank'n could be a good fit for both squads. I'd trust Dallas to make the right decision while the Knicks...they might actually pick the right player but misuse him.

Makes no sense as usual. In order for there to be a #7 for #9 swap along with Rubio and Matthews you would have to assume Matthews at 30 years old is more valuable than Rubio at 26. Maybe I'm just being a homer here the Wolves aren't giving up more value in both picks and player.

On the other hand that ridiculous article achieved it's goal, it got clicks.

Maybe?

Even coming back from the horrific Achilles injury, Matthews is an alright 3-and-D guy. Shoots a lot of threes at a better than average clip. But he's shot 39% overall each of his past two seasons.

And did his defense take a hit last year too? I don't know.

[Note: Personally, I don't like that trade... especially for the Wolves.]

Maybe I'm being dense, but I'm not sure what you're saying. Do you believe Matthews to have more value than Rubio? Matthews has had a very nice career and is surely a worthy player off any bench even today. I don't however believe that at this moment he has greater ability to impact a game than Rubio and as Rubio showed toward the end of last season there is the outside chance he improves even now... not that I'm holding my breath.

Some teams might find more value in an above average 3 point shooter who can play solid D over a gifted passing, suspect shooting PG.

Personally, for the Wolves... I dig Rubio more. He's easily the team's best PG.

How do we know after a year of learning the NBA pace and strength, that Dunn is not our best PG next year? I personally believe Dunn is the future of this team at PG. Just my opinion, and if Thibs trades him then so do the Wolves FO
