I don't believe anything I read about the Wolves in the national press.

Even coming back from the horrific Achilles injury, Matthews is an alright 3-and-D guy. Shoots a lot of threes at a better than average clip. But he's shot 39% overall each of his past two seasons.
And did his defense take a hit last year too? I don't know.
[Note: Personally, I don't like that trade... especially for the Wolves.]

Maybe I'm being dense, but I'm not sure what you're saying. Do you believe Matthews to have more value than Rubio? Matthews has had a very nice career and is surely a worthy player off any bench even today. I don't however believe that at this moment he has greater ability to impact a game than Rubio and as Rubio showed toward the end of last season there is the outside chance he improves even now... not that I'm holding my breath.

Some teams might find more value in an above average 3 point shooter who can play solid D over a gifted passing, suspect shooting PG.
Personally, for the Wolves... I dig Rubio more. He's easily the team's best PG.
