Yes, I wish KAT would get better control of his fouling, but that's partially a function of his aggressiveness - something sorely lacking in a number of other players on this team. KAT carried us last night. We needed someone else other than Okogie and Rose to step up and hit shots.
Rose or Saric should have taken the 3-pointer each had at the end. Rose was hot, but Saric had at least as good a look and he's supposedly a 3-point shooter. Yet, I'm bothered more by Dario's missed shots and all the open 3-point looks Saric and Teague passed up throughout the game. The Wolves were actually more accurate than the Mavs from behind the arc. But Dallas had 14 more 3-point attempts than the Wolves. That gap in 3-point attempts was the difference in the game. Seriously, Saric was getting the behind the arc with a great look, but never even looked at the basket. He stared at the ball and then looked for someone to pass to. Someone has to tell that guy to toughen up and keep shooting. If not, then Tolliver should have his place in the rotation. And Teague has to stop passing up good 3-point looks for contested 2-point floaters. It's ironic that we're focusing on Rose passing up that three in the end. He clearly should have taken that shot. But he was taking open shots all game when they were available. What he did at the end was what Teague and Saric were doing all game. And that's why the Wolves lost.
We had that guy in Butler but personalities didn't match. That's why I'll never blame thibs for going to get butler

Yeah, we did...but I'm wondering if anyone's personality can match with Jimmy's. I'm thinking about some of the negative comments he has made in the past about teammates, and then looking at his post-game comment after missing 2 free throws with 3 seconds remaining that could have tied the game. "Nobody's pointing fingers at anybody". Don't be so sure, Jimmy...there may be a few pointing at you this morning.

Ya I agree. I'm just saying at the time when we got him we believed what he only cared about winning and he was in a bad situation with the Bulls. He also had Dwade backing and rumors were Kyrie wanted to come here because of Jimmy.
In the end, now after 3 stops, jimmy cares about jimmy.
But I still don't blame thibs for the trade. Made an educated trade that in the end blew up. You need stars to win and jimmy has star talent

Yeah, I too still support Thibs on that deal...it was a calculated risk that led to a 47-win season. Nobody drank more kool aid on that deal than me...still thinking about deleting all my "butler will retire as the most popular T-Wolf ever" posts...worst call ever! Now I'm looking forward to watching things blow up in Philly...things are going sour there earlier than they did here, even though they are winning. I predict things get ugly very soon...

I do blame Thibodeau for the trade. Of all people, Thibodeau should have known what he was getting into with Butler. But Thibodeau is remarkable in his capacity to put on blinders and pursue what he wants based on his first impulse without asking himself the tough questions. And since he wasn't inclined to listen to others and had a reputation for biting off the heads of those who challenged him, he was prone to mistakes like the one he make trading for Butler. However, I think the bigger mistake was failing to see the situation for what it was back in May/June and dealing Butler for more value back then around the draft.
In the end, trading for Butler, along with Taj, got the Wolves into the playoffs for the first time in a long time. So while I think the Butler deal was ultimately a bad one for the Wolves, I can see the argument that it was actually a pretty good one. And now we have Covington and Saric, which isn't bad. Further evidence that Thibodeau was a better PBO than head coach, although still no better than mediocre in either position - and that's before you consider the way he treated people in the organization and embarrassed the organization with his sideline antics.

I disagree on bad Wiggins last night. He was engaged on the boards and had active feet and hands on the defensive end (there were lapses, as there were with Okogie and Rose). He created quite a bit with effort, tips leading to steals, some very good one on one defense and coverage challenges leading to missed shots.
Wigs first 4 shots were 1 pullup and three drives to the basket. On two of the drives he was hammered (on one he got pushed in midair behind sideways to behind the basket). It was pretty clear that Wiggins wasn't going to get a call, so I don't necessarily fault him for some of the pullups.
Doncic is great, no doubt, but good defenders will start to force calls on his off hand lead (also known as push) which is how he gets his space most of the time. Good defenders will start moving or grabbing that arm. Refs will be forced to make calls at some point on it. (maybe not though, they've never called LeBron for dropping his shoulder and the rule of verticality is barely a suggestion when officiating Harden).
Yes Wiggins only shot 41%, yes we know you are way done with Wiggins. I still want to see how he responds to a faster play coach.
His offensive decline (and defensive ascent in all fairness) can be pretty well correlated with the Thibs era.
