The more I think about this the more it seems like great news. Love Gorgui, and for that price on this market, that's a deal.

G's deal certainly seems team friendly at this point in time, especially in comparison to Gobert!
Re: Woj: Wolves talking 4 year contracts with Dieng and Shabazz
G always struck me as a guy who would take less to stay and it appears he did. It eats into potential cap space next summer vs his cap hold but I think this signals that the Wolves did not have big plans to spend outside anyway. His trade value will be very high from now on if the Wolves need to explore that. Well done Thibs/Layden.

It's a very good deal. I'm thrilled. I think he did take less and I think he also got a relatively fair deal. Keep in mind soon the mid level will be over 8 million. If they keep the deal 16 million each year or even front load the contract a million or 2 in the first year Dieng could be a big time bargain pretty quickly. We have him locked in for 5 total seasons. Damn that's good. I think the Wolves pulled out a terrific contract here.

That is a steal for gorgui, keeps our options open for the offseason and Gorgui is a healthy big who is solid at every aspect I honestly thought he was going to get the max

I have to agree that this is a very good deal for the Wolves. Take a look at the comparative stats for Gobert and G...paying Gobert almost twice as much as Gorgui is absurd. Great to have a competent, improving player and a great teammate locked up for 5 years!

Fantastic deal for G. He would have easily got 20 million in free agency with his skills on both sides of the court. PEK along with what G already makes cover most of it after next season for the purposes of thinking into the future.

Sounds like a fantastic signing. Really pumped about this. Well done Theydon.

Sounds like Taylor had a hand in convincing Dieng to sign.

I can't say I'm a big fan of the deal (honestly I didn't want Dieng back at all considering how badly he's regressed on defense) but to be fair, I thought it would be worse.
Now let's get Bazz signed!
