Yes. And no.

I agree that Wiggins could thrive there. But that just wasn't going to happen here. A change of scenery was needed... for everybody.

It sucks for the fans. But it's necessary for some players to get closer to their potential.

We've seen what Wiggins looks like without the ball. The shooting percentages may go up due to better looks, but if they are running screens for Steph and Klay everywhere how is Wiggins not just in a corner doing nothing? The only prayer for Wiggins was playing like he did this year with the ball in his hands forcing him to get involved. I don't think GS was the fit for him.

He was mediocre in Kansas. With Embiid next to him.

If he became a hall of famer all of a sudden in Golden State, then tip your cap, but that requires him having to figure out how to like basketball. The reality is that it was never gonna happen here and if it's the same way with even Russell and Towns, then that's an indictment on the franchise as a whole and there's no overcoming that.

Ok. Who will take his contract?

I think the Golden State option has legs. They won with a young Harrison Barnes. I think it's a decent enough bet for the Warriors to believe that a change of scenery and culture is enough to make Wiggins a superior option to Barnes

You called that one sir. I nominate Abe as official board guru

Yeah Abe nailed it, this morning I thought the deal was probably dead since why didn't they include GSW in the trade yesterday? Though many weeks ago I mentioned Wiggins for DLO when most were discussing RoCo and Dieng. I thought Wiggins made the most sense for both teams. I guess they agreed. lol

It wouldn't be impossible if he can start shooting. I think for them Wiggins makes more sense then DLO. I wish we didn't give up any picks, but at least they are protected obviously.

And duh they have Klay Thompson and Curry. Both shoot lights out.

Who are these other guys that have become awesome shooters when they went to GS?

Abe with a fitting pre-emptive goodbye to our now departed Andrew Wiggins. Well done my friend, well done.

He simply had to go. Andrew the person seems like a nice, reserved dude. I wish him well in Golden State. I'm sure he'll torch our ass whenever he plays us, but that's kind of how he rolls. Not sure how he'll do against the rest of the league.

I think he won't have to do anything but occasionally get hot. If he can't succeed there then he won't be able to anywhere. His comp was always Harrison Barnes and now he's going to have that role. Good for him.
