a summer or two ago he really became a go-to guy for Senegal and was hitting the corner 3, making post moves, and really expanding his game. It seems as if he's hit a wall of some sort. Not good.
It seems like that wall was made up of stacks of $$. So sad.

I just finished watching Senegal vs Rwanda in a game that ended up being pretty entertaining. Dieng has a terrific offensive game hitting 4 3's (made another corner 3 where his foot was on the line) was 10-14 overall for 28 points. He was really letting it fly especially from 3. Often they basically use him as a floor spacer with him in a corner. At other times they have him in the middle which allows him to make plays and he was making plenty of on the money passes. He had a steal and dribbled up the floor and did a perfect behind the back pass to a guy that blew the layup.
As far as defense and rebounding and overall hustle which i had concerns about in the previous games...idk. Defensivelyhe often ended up guarding or switching onto more perimeter oriented players. Senegal has alot of size they play 2 other guys that are more of the athletic traditions enters and they have some other combo forwards that play most of there minutes on the wing. Often Dieng being a floor spacer would just go back on defense (often first back) instead of looking to try and secure the defensive rebound which seems a bit strange but even their guards are pretty good rebounders so it may make sense especially depending on where he was on the floor when the shot went up.
Obviously he was shooting very well and so you would expect him to be looking good out there and he was so that was a good thing. Rwanda really gave them a good game with their 3point shooting. Next up is Nigeria who is undefeated so far so that should be an even better game to gauge how Dieng is doing. Hopefully these games are a good way to have Dieng tunes up for the season not having him be tired whichever I believe has been a bit of a problem in a past season.

He had another good game today. It's nice that he gets a chance to be the lead dog for his team in international play. It's too bad he could not translate his corner 3 ball to the NBA last season, as he's been pretty effective with it in international play. It would make him so much more effective.
