Re: Realistic Trades for #7
I am waiting to see how the board falls. If one of our SF's is available at #7 we take him. If they are off the board then we are looking at PG's and we are in a good position to trade down with a team that wants one. I would talk to Mavs, Kings, and Pistons about a trade. All could jump in front of the Knicks and get the PG they want.

On the realistic front it would have to be another team hovering in no man's land, likely in the east. How about Dragic and the 14 for Ricky and the 7? Would probably never happen but that is as close to a slight advantage for us that I could get to.

And why would we give up both the better draft pick and the better and younger player. Doper, are you related to David Kahn?

Yeah, might as well include KAT for Whiteside too as he is by far the superior player.

Dragic is vastly superior to Ricky. It's really not close. Also you think Covington and 2nds are worth the 7th pick and Covington is just an ok role player. Clearly your player evals are far off from reality.

Khan, you are a FRIGGIN GENIUS!!! Dragic is amazing. Lets throw in Wiggins too, just to be more fair.

Dragic lead a team with him, Whiteside and the goonies to .500 record.
Dragic was a former all nba player in phx and was traded for 2 1st. Ricky was "almost" traded for cap space.
I like ricky he is a middle of the pack starting pg. But dragic is fucking good. (I understand the age thing but I can never see ricky getting to dragic level)

If Pat Riley wants to do that deal, the Wolves should say no. That's because I trust Riley more than I trust Thibs and Layden when it comes to front office wheeling and dealing.
Dragic is definitely a step or two up from Ricky, although the Ricky we saw the last 2 months this past season isn't as far off as some suggest when you consider Ricky's defense and rebounding. And age matters unless your convinced that Dragic would just be a bridge to Dunn or Tyus. I just don't have that much faith in those two so trading Ricky, in my view, has to be tied to filling the gap with a young vet PG at least equal to and probably better than Ricky. But the main reason I'd turn that deal down if I were Thibs (other than not wanting to get fleeced by Riley) would be the exchange of #7 for #14. I don't see any prospect likely to be available at #14 who would be nearly as good a prospect as Isaac, Tatum or Zach Collins -- one of whom should be available at #7.
