The only option I remotely like is Monk, but I take Dennis Smith if he is there.

I don't think the Bulls would do that deal, but I wouldn't be surprised if they did. The Bulls are clearly going into rebuild mode this summer so they'll likely trade Jimmy for the best deal they can get. I think the Bulls would see Ricky as a much better fit for them in rebuild mode because of Ricky's age and contract. Ricky would also add excitement in that market and, assuming Ricky continues his post allstar shooting, I think they'd view him as a step up over Rondo. Belly would be a nice get for them as well, especially considering his dirt cheap contract. So if the Bulls really love the potential of someone available at #7, then I could see them doing that deal. I wouldn't put money down on it, but I think it's somewhat realistic.

Thibs likes Belly and for that trade to happen Belly would have to be healthy. Isn't Hoiberg a Rubio fan? Having said all that they gave up a decent bunch of stuff to get Cameron Payne a few months ago so...I don't know if getting Rubio would tip the scales that much. I can't imagine they couldn't find a better package than that for Butler.

Yes, Fred is a big Rubio fan. He told me before that draft that Ricky was the best 5 on 5 player in the draft. He said he loved the way Ricky could run a team and make his teammates better. Of course, that was a while back before Ricky established his NBA track record. But for what it's worth, those are the things Fred told me about Ricky in a private conversation.

Lip, I really like Isaac as well but I see no way the suns take him over Tatum. I think teams generally should draft best player but the Suns just drafted two guys that most likely play the same position as Isaac. Tatum fits perfectly next to Booker. They grade out closely as prospects, Phoenix would take Tatum imo.

Thanks for posting, Monster. I think you can see why I don't think Isaac will last to #7. One thing that makes Isaac special is the fact that he started high school as a 6'3 guard before ending up as a 6'10 SF/PF with a 9'1 overhead reach after a belated growth spurt. Same thing happened to Scottie Pippen. You end up with a PG skills and mentality in a long SF or PF's body. You can see that Isaac's ball-handling is terrific -- better as a college frosh than Wiggins as a 3rd year pro. Also note that he appears to be almost ambidextrous both handing the ball and finishing at the rim. He's super quick and appears to have a nice feel for the game.

The video after the Isaac highlights shows that Tatum is not slouch either. But I'd take Isaac over Tatum and I think other teams, especially the Suns would too.

What I can gather is that Tatum is more likely to be a top level scorer plus he isn't too shabby in the other categories either. Its kind of the opposite for Isaac. You are pretty likely to get the other stuff, but will he really score? The Suns have a bunch of talent and Booker, TJ Warren can score. do any of those guys have the isolation game Tatum might provide? that Isolation game is why I would prefer another player for the Wolves ,but I hear Tatum is a good kid willing to be an all around guy not looking for his exactly.

Take Isaac and give him an Iowa Energy jersey immediately.

Here is something else to think about. Zach Collins. I could see the guy move up heck he is at #10 I think on DX right now. What is the plan for the Suns at C? Alex Len turns 24 this summer and had a meh season and is RFA. Is he a guy that is gonna be good and even if he figures it out will he be useful in this new NBA? I just read an article that said Alan Williams outplayed him once they shut down Tyson Chandler. I looked up Williams stats and the rebounding was eye popping. Maybe he is a guy we should throw some money at...ok probably not (unless he can actually guard PFs) but let's find that type of guy.

Ok back to what the Suns do at #4 Collins probably won't move up that high and the Suns aren't going to draft just for need but regardless it's possible Zach Collins gets taken before the Wolves are picking. I just want Isaac.

Bender's probably going to be groomed to be their C moving forward

If the Wolves ever selected Monk, that's a slam dunk "we shoulda took Hield last year" pick

My first two choices are scenarios I don't think will happen:

1) Draft Isaac. This guy is going to soar on draft boards after GMs see him work out.

2) Trade pick and LaVine for Butler. Last summer the Chicago beat writer closest to Bulls management said on the Barreiro show that the Bulls had absolutely no interest in Zach. I can't see that his poor defensive season and injury would have changed that opinion.

While I would love either of these scenarios, I don't find them likely. I need to fall in love with another option at 7, and right now I don't have one.

I agree that Isaac will likely be gone before our #7 pick. I don't believe the Bulls' beat writer on Zach.

I am leaning towards Collins.
